It's contagious. When Girgs got the forecheck going and battles for the puck, Hodgson would go right into the corner and throw his weight around. I loved it.

It's been a long time since we've had a player that makes the players around him better.

How to know what the Islanders are going to do with the pick. Whatever makes sense they will do the opposite. It is that simple

What you can't seem to accept is that Murray has said he's going to do things the way he wants to, not the way that everyone else has done them. He doesn't give a crap about what everyone else thinks.

hahaha okay.. I cant anymore.. Simple fact best players will play ones that aren't ready or aren't good enough wont..

Yeah I get it a lot of others don't or not willing to. At least the Sabres are looking to change things up. Not us we award failure

Snow is keeping this year's pick. Buffalo can make plans to use it next year.
It's a top 5. Any GM (as bad as he is) is not anticipating finishing in the top 5 in the upcoming season. They have young guys stepping upand JT will be back. Their goaltending will be better, alot of decent options on the market in the offseason.
The sure thing is a top 6 pick. Any team will take that guarantee, as they should all expect (minus maybe Buffalo) to make the playoffs next year.

I also think you will see a Myers/Erhoff deal for Evander Kane. He fits everything that Murray mentioned when he was hired, the guy who has a falling out with his coach and needs a change of scenery. His legal issues will be solved, he needs a refresh. Could be a nice move to speed the rebuild. Couple that with drafting Ekblad, I'm good.

I think the bolded is correct. Its a tough pill to swallow. Thankfully the Sabres blew it up and seems to be doing it correctly.

Not a chance. Ehrhoff has a NTC and wont be going to the West and Nolan pretty much said Myers is their future on the blue line

... Will see now wont we.. If its Ekblad he probably wont only because of the position he plays.. If we draft 1st overall if its Reinhart or Bennett doesn't matter I'd put the odds of them playing here close to 100% as I can go without it being a fact. if its 2nd overall I'd still say close to 90% if they show they can play and I state my reputation on it as well and will admit I'm wrong if it happens otherwise..

If they draft a player first overall, then send him back to juniors and re-sign John Scott to play consistently the Sabres should be awarded no picks in 2015.

I'm not sure "not a chance" fits here. Nolan doesn't make the moves and field the calls from other teams. You have to give to get. Myers hasn't exactly been lights out. Ekblad, Pysyk, erhoff, Risto, Zadorov and (Ruhwedel/Weber/Sulzer/Tallinder/McCabe/Free agent)

If it gets me a top 2 pick next year. Good. see ya Myers.

I'm not disagreeing with your reasoning or data to suggest why they should. However the "best players" don't always play. I have a feeling Murray wants to groom players like Detroit does.

Well if they don't then Buffalo makes out like a bandit. Snow just can't operate on the premise they will be owrse or win a 3% chance to draft first. He has to take this pick.

I see the Sabres top 6 next year: Stafford, Ennis, Girgensons, Hodgson, ?, ?

maybe Foligno and Conacher round it out but I think they add a few pieces

- Stripes77

Conacher sucks put him on a bus with Leinio

Putting an awful lot of stock into a 18 year old defense men that hasn't stepped foot into the NHL yet. I would not want to trade Myers for Evander Kane straight up. It's a deal that doesn't make too much since for the Sabres.

With Myers on this team they have a top 2 pick why move someone coming into his own and wait the 4-5 years for the Ekblad has arrived party?

Murray's actually stated on record he'd like to do things like LA but they only had one pick in the top 5.. so who knows how accurate to that we will be.. Detroit rarely if ever has had a pick in the top 5 in the last century.. they usually get project Europeans and have them learn the game and come out of nowhere.. Not the same as a 1st or 2nd overall pick.
