Yes A roster void of lack luster players and more of players tuning their game and getting better. |

Without a goalie like Miller to keep them in games but with some development of young players and one major trade for a solid player I say they improve but still finish in the bottom 2 |

1rst round pick in next years draft is worth more than this year, They could pick next year top 5 and instert player in the line up from what they say next draft will be . |

100% Yes. I don't think its possible to be as bad... That being said it wont be much better. I see us finishing something like how Calgary did this year.. Tough to play against but still lack overall talent. |

I will be more surprised if the Sabres get the Islanders 2014 pick then if they don't. |

Yes we wil miss Miller. BUT...... win/loss stayed constant after he was traded . Ott didn't change anything either. |

Bassically.. its not a slam dunk like it is for the first overall pick to play right away in the NHL if you pick 2nd… Out of the 10 forwards 5 played their first year in the NHL… Out of those 5 2 were from Europe 3 from Juniors.. - bluengold12
Agreed although if you guys end up with Ekblad I think he ll be ready to go next year, based on his physical maturity. Having a tandem of ekblad and Myers for the next 15 years I would wager you have the best defensive pairing in the NHL in a few years. Myers would be good to help ekblad transition in the NHL as he has had both success and a endured a rough patch so can speak from experience and give insight. |

better? yes. however, i still think theres a good chance they end up last. i think most, if not all of the teams that joined buffalo at the bottom this year will be better. |

Mentioned this a while back but Dan Petriw had something in the comment section of his blog where a scout said that a player at 20 next year is as good as a player around 5,6,7 this year. Something to keep in mind I suppose. |

I get what u r saying. Would be awesome to have a amazing defense but I feel like u can get a really good defender later in the 1st round or early in the 2nd. Soo hard to get a top end foward outside of a top 3 pick |

Doesn't matter.. they will be getting rid of the dead weight losers and brining in guys who work hard and aren't defensive liabilities.. Also a full year with Nolan it wont ruin their confidence like Rolston did.. Again I see us having a similar season as the Flames did this year and we'll likely be the 3rd or 4th worst team in the league. |
