Majority rules in these situations also Toews was 3rd overall I said majority of 1st and 2nd overalls play right off the bat.. All 1st overall ones do. Except goalies - bluengold12
Is this a league rule no one else knows about ? If it is even close I see him sending them back . Especially seeing how him and Nolan feel about playing kids.

Not what I heard. Sounded like he will send whoever back to junior . Not allowed to say the tank job is on , but it is. - Maximum Signal
Obviously everyone is going to interpret it a bit differently, but that's kinda what I got out of it too.

But also kept Girgensons here. The kid has to show he belongs. I fully expect Zadorov to be here next season. I don't see what another year in juniors is going to do for him. Grigorenko will be in Rochester for sure |

Looking for some feedback on who Sabres fans want at #1 if they retain the pick! Take a peak and let me know what you think and what you are hoping for. Interesting scenarios in the lottery with us having possible control of the Islanders pick this year too. Wish we didn't have to wait until June 1st to find out whether it's ours or not. If I were them, I'd give this years pick to the Sabres to stay in the running for McDavid/Eichel next year.

So tell your players and fan base you think they will be crappy again . How long till John Tavares demands a trade ?

Girgensons has more than shown he belongs in the NHL . Regardless of what a few around here think of his scoring ability. Have to see how Zadarov plays in the Memorial cup . He had a crappy series against Guelph. he cannot go to the AHL for another year. |

That's not how the Sabres want it to work. They want them groomed properly and ready when they hit the NHL.
That's why Pysyk and Larsson were sent down.
Both of them were better than Sulzer or Ellis, but they didn't want them in this atmosphere - sbroads24
Completely different scenarios.. Pysyk first off is a defenseman second of all they said they wanted him the AHL to be a leader for the rest of the year..
Also Larsson isn't even close to the same category of player Reinhart or Bennett are.. we haven't had anyone on the team with as much potential in at least a decade.. |

Someone was on here the other day saying Zadorov looked terrible and needed another year. I'm not sure who it was. But I thought he'd been having a good year since he went back to London, so I was kind of surprised. |

I agree but you can't say that whomever we draft won't have that same drive...in fact I would hope that person has that drive |

He has had a few shaky games but has had some great games. Defense men are so tough to project (exactly why I don't want Ekblad) |

No its just a fact.... 1st overall picks play right away it has happened every year in at the very least the last decade... 2nd overall? If your a forward yeah most of them play right of the bat too.. Your reading into it with your own wishes of tanking next year... when I'm looking at it with a common sense approach...
If Reinhart or Bennett is good enough they will play here if they are not ready they will be sent down.. Unless he comes out and says they will 100% not play here making a statement saying they will is making assumptions.. |

It really depends on a lot of things. You can't say for sure one way or the other. It's not a decision any of us will have any say in.
They may even let whoever it is start the season here to give him a taste of the NHL and then send him down with a list of things to work on. Who knows.
But with Nolan not really being a fan of playing kids, you have to take into consideration that whoever it ends up being won't be with us next year. |

He was considered a bit of a project when they drafted him, so I would expect that he could use another year. I'd like to see him get a bit more consistency to his game and maybe up his conditioning a bit. |

They are going to have to stand out in camp . Why waste a year of entry level deal and put that player in a losing enviornment . Maybe Edmonton should have sent their number ones back for another year . Bringing them up right away is working so well.

Nolan doesn't have a say.. If Murray says the kids staying he's staying.. But everyone loves to say Nolan is not a fan of playing kids but really that's a bit embellished.. If a kid plays well enough he's not going to deny his team of putting out the best players if they appear ready.. Look at Girgensons... He's all ready come out and said Ristolianen will be here next year as long as he doesn't have a drop off in training camp.. Nolan isn't used to getting a player with as high of a caliber as what we will be getting in this draft. History shows those guys play right away |

I can guarantee he gets the C next season. The way Nolan and Murray talked about him today, you can tell they just love him. Everyone loves him...except MrSquirrel - CaptainRivet
Yeah, his name and Hodgson's came up from them a few times. I think they like Cody, just trying to figure out where he works the best. |
