Detroit has no chance. - Iggysbff
Seriously dude.... put away your crack pipe (or just get your head out of the sand). ANY team has a chance to upset their opponent in the first round. |

because he happens to cheer for a team that has been bad for awhile, he doesnt understand hockey or winning as well as you who happens to cheer for a middling team?
are u under the impression that he had a hand in building the oilers? that he's part of management and it's his mistake? or maybe you're actually bergevin?

You gotta admit.. it was a pretty stupid statement. As if upsets never happen... LOL. I'm sure the Ducks and Chicago thought that last year. Sure... the Wings are the underdogs and it will be tough to win but it's just plain stupid to say they have no chance. |

i actually picked minny over colorado. and i just dont believe in anaheim, so ima take dallas too.
but the hab fans retort to bos/det post and the moronic reasoning behind it gave me a chuckle.
there's no cure for stupid |

The poll results is due to one thing...Bruins haters....it has nothing to do with anyone using their friggin heads to think things through. I guess thats too much to expect from the majority of HB users...
So Detroit has a chance....extremely small...but still a chance. |

In your opinion... You forgot to add that.
The fact that Detroit made it into the playoffs while their 2 premiere players were hurt for a majority of the season speaks to the resilience and skill of the team.
Plus, it's Detroit, the best run franchise in recent NHL history, and I say that as a Flyers fan.
Perhaps your opinion is just colored by your hate for the Red Wings, or does that argument not go both ways? |

I'm a fan of Detroit. Datsyuk and Zetterberg are beasts. But the Bruins are a juggernaut and imo will steamroll a depleted wings team.

And we all know how you work....Bruins suck no matter what...they could win the cup again this year and you'll still say they suck. |

Detroit. I think they have a legit shot at beating Boston. Coming into the postseason hot. Rookies look great. Then they have this guy named Datsyuk who can take over the game. I see them taking it to 7 games where Zetterberg will return from an injury and lead them to the next round |

The thing is detroit WAS depleted and they went 3-1 ... Now they are missing only (and I say only lightly) Z and Ericsson so they bea them when they were depleted and now they are almost healthy. Not saying I'm guaranteeing a win. Boston is a deep team offensive defensive and goaltending but the wings were given a small chance of even making it and they tore right into the playoffs.
So I'm just clarifying your confusion and for all ignorant comments lol somehow you know all the picks for detroit were only boston haters...not because they looked at some facts and came up with a decision....so easy to call other ignorant and then post and ignorant comment |

they beat the bruins 3 out of 4 games this year, sometimes teams matchup well against a higher seed |

Raask doesn't seem to play his best against Detroit. They seem to have his number for whatever reason. |

I think Detroit has a legit chance due to how they played them all year. Plus they won't buy into the after whistle stuff. Basically we will see actual hockey get played and Detroit has a better coach, IMO. Tough series for both.
CBJ will have to score early to get at Fleury and have to piss off Crosby to take him off his game. Could be a upset if Bobrov gets hot. Edge is still very much in Pitts favor but have to see how this CBJ team lead by young players reacts.
If Detroit or CBJ take one of the first two on the road then the pressure has a huge shift to the favorites and the underdogs will get a huge boost back home. Either way, there's lots of possibilities but it's not very cut and dry at all, at this point, who will take those series. |

Oh there is a chance for the Wings....being a realist though, without Zetterberg and Ericsson in the line up it is less than last year vs the Ducks. The other big Achilles Heal is our 5th and 6th D-men. Can't hide them in Boston with the last change. Those 2 guys are brutal at times.
One thing the Wings have going for them is the lack of pressure and expectations. I remember many a spring being on the other side where the pressure was immense only to lose to a hot goalie, low pressure, hungry team that had been playing playoff hockey for a month.. |

5 of the original 6 made this year’s playoffs.
Boston fans, what if it unfolded like this...
* Toronto is out of it. True.
* Detroit vs. Bruins.
* Bruins vs. Habs.
* Bruins vs. Rangers.
* For the Cup? Rematch Bruins vs. BlackHawks.

I honestly think that Columbus has the best chance to make an upset. Sure, Detroit may have played good against Boston this year, but Boston always seems to turn white hot in the playoffs. - flyersbuzz
I agree 100 % ....Pitt is beat up....I was so nervous that even with the first pick in the Playoff pool I avoided Sid....I also think that Boston had better not take the wings lightly.... |

The Pens are going to be pretty close to full strength for the start of the playoffs. There is a good chance Malkin plays Wednesday night. If that's the case, the only 2 players they are missing is Dupuis (out for season) and Goc (should be back shortly). This is the healthiest they've been all season. |

I always question when a guy gets back right in time for playoffs...I guess we'll see how effective some of the returning guys are .....I also wonder how pitt will deal with some of these guys that haven't played much of late....Because they were so good early, I wonder if they have lost the edge....They havent had to win in a month...I just think they are ripe for an upset. For your sake , I hope your team is healthy and ready to go. |
