The rags just don't seem to make mistakes against the Flyers. I'm excited, but it'll have to be a hard fought series for the Flyers to come out on top.
- BulliesPhan87

I can see the Rangers winning game 1, Flyers winning the next 3 and then closing it out at home in 6. If Rangers dont win game 1, they are in huge trouble IMO. Right out of the gate the Flyers shake their MSG demons would be huge.

TBH? I don't think the Pens can win anymore with that core of players. I don't think it matters who the coach is.

James Neal is an undisciplined punk -- look at Saturday, when he wastes the 1-0 lead they had by taking a stupid penalty, where the Flyers scored on the PP.

You're better off starting me or any other guy off the street in the net in the playoffs than the sieve they have.

After all these years, they're still easily rattled, angered and thrown off their game. That's not going to change -- it's their collective personality, embodied by their captain.

They might beat Columbus, because Columbus doesn't have a ton of playoff experience. But I have no doubt that the Pens aren't winning a thing this year or next year, or anytime soon, no matter who goes there.

Those 8 losses at MSG over the past few years is wayyyyy overblown. Exactly the type of poop the media loves to feed upon and the players could care less about.

Home or Away you've got to play 60 hard minutes, have a solid team defense, and score more goals. Not complicated.

Most of the players that started that streak arent even involved in this series. Meaningless stat.

Let the bloodletting begin:

Dan Rosen ‏@drosennhl 1m

Predators beat reporter @JoshuaCooper reporting Barry Trotz will not be back in Nashville next season.

But he won 2 playoff series in 16 years! Talk about an ungrateful Organization. Trotz got a raw deal. He should have got a 5 year extension.

Making his NHL debut, Cal Heeter appeared to suffer from the jitters in the first 30 minutes or so of the game.

Was Heeter really nervous?

Ha! You know what?

Maybe his GM didn't give him the best tools to work with, but at the end of the day...you kinda do have to look at it that way, don't you?

Two playoff series win in 16 years...yeah. You do have to look at it that way.

I think he was, and I think it's totally understandable.

Undrafted free agent makes his NHL debut in Game 82, after his AHL season has already ended. He's never faced guys like Jeff Skinner and Eric Staal before, that caliber of player, nor has he ever played with the Flyers, their set of defensemen.

Should he have stopped some of those goals? Yeah, probably. Sure.

But I can easily see a guy being rattled in his first NHL start. Easily.

1. I think they will, Simmonds is a machine and I think VL, who will get spotted on that line, is going to have a good series

2. They better. I have to think that Rinaldo and Downie have been warned by the coaching staff to behave. I'm actually more worried about Hartnell when it comes to stupidity.

3. I'm guessin Downie gets game 1, but after that ???

- BiggE

I'm banking on Hartnell taking 1-2 goalie interference penalties early on, and I'm okay with that. Under no circumstances can Lundqvist think for a minute that he's gonna be nice and cozy in his crease. Get in his face, get in his space, create some havoc in front of him and, if need be, bump him early on. If the Flyers let him get settled in, he's that much harder to beat.

I agree with this. You want Lundquist thinking about something other than the puck.

If the Flyers win either of Game 1 or Game 2, this series will be over in 5.

With the lineups he was given, it's a miracle that he won those series. Heck, their all-time scoring leader is David Legwand, and no player ever scored more than 33 goals in a season. It's great to have a solid defense, but when you're in the same division with Detroit, Chicago, and St. Louis, and you can't put the puck in the net, you're not gonna win often.

I think at home the Rangers get thier match-ups a lot easier. And the way Rangers play defense, when they have the right match-ups, its trouble at ES for the Flyers.

I'm confident in this team.

Let's not forget that this is the Rangers, and they certainly aren't some super team this year. People are making too much of a big deal over the Flyers record at MSG. That has to stop some time, you know.

I was down at the game yesterday and was once again pretty pissed off with some of the fans.

Heeter was completely exposed on the first goal of the game. You cant give a star player like Skinner and open look like that.

1 shot, 1 goal, in his first game.. Certainly rattled him. Next its a 2v1, then breakaways, and blah blah blah.

This clown in front of me was screaming at him, giving him the finger, told him to go back to Hershey (for whatever reason) and just would not quit. I finally yelled down and told him to shut up.

Then, every time a puck came near Heeter he got a Bronx cheer.. sad support. Shouldnt be surprised, but I was.
