I think you're negative about negativity

You're are right. I am negative about negativity. There should be positive energy heading into the playoffs from the fan base.

We're going to sweep the Rangers then we are going to sweep the Pens and Neal will deliver an accidental knee to Crosby's head.

All good except for the last part. That is negative energy and bad karma.

Finally some good karma. Gill was used so sparingly, because the 6 regulars are better then he is, and the Flyers were relatively injury free on the backend.

Oh man I am very excited.
In October/November it looked like a three yr project, now who knows, anything can happen.

I guess with their mix of big guys on the d side, Gill maybe didn't add much.
But he is a heady player and I liked what I saw the last two games. Maybe my expectations were set low and I was happily surprised.

Does Downie start in game one?

I'd play both him and Rinaldo at least to start. Not sure what Berube does.

whoever said Couts should use his slapshot in here earlier, i agree with very much.

hate that its become more rare in today's game. Love big centers that would crank it like Sundin always would. if nothing else it often creates a rebound.

always wished Carter wouldve worked on that instead of always trying to get his wrister off

When Carter was out late night in old city, he had plenty of options available so that he wouldn't have to rely on getting his wrister off.

I think Couts should shoot more in general

Are you talking about a slapper like the one at 6:25?

If he ever gets that explosive first stride he will have a ton of breakaway chances.
He is so good at taking pucks away.

Agree about the slapper.

How's Mason doing? I think I read today that it's not 100% sure he'll be ready to return to practice tomorrow?

I was always amazed there was no hooking call on that EN goal. But that hat trick was a thing of great beauty.

The clutch and grab era even more amplified in the playoffs. If Lindros played with today's rules, he would be even more unstoppable.

I'm not sure what Berube does. Really surprised Downie was scratched the last two games, which doesn't make a lot of sense, unless Berube continues to scratch him. I would have thought if Berube was going to use him extensively in the playoffs, he would have given him the last two games to round his game into form.

I like Raffl on the third line, I'm just not sure McGinn can carry the load on the second line. I would expect Vinny to be promoted throughout the game depending on the situation.

No way does Mason miss game 1. It did not look serious. I was surprised he sat out the 3rd period that game to begin with.

No way should McGinn play. He doesnt offer much. If Berube scrathes Downie I'm good with Akeson playing based on his speed. Which we could use. Rinaldo will be back as well.

At this point, I would hope that if he was in the playoff plans they would have called him up a little sooner.

Could Downie have been scratched because they didn't want to take any chances with that soft melon of his?
