I would be shocked if Mason doesn't play game 1. I guess we can start worrying if Mason doesn't practice tomorrow.

Just start worrying now. You don't want everyone else to get a head start. They won't take you seriously.

The chance that Gostisbehere plays his Sr. year are slim. People need to relax.

1) There is no financial incentive to wait, because the ELC limits level the field even if he is a UFA.

2) The Schultz loophole was closed in the new CBA, meaning Ghost would have to wait til Aug 15, 2015 to become a free agent rather than in June. That is a major disincentive because most NHL teams will have their rosters all but set for the next season.

3) His ELC would start in 2014-15 with Flyers org; something that he can't get by waiting. He'd get in a year of service time on his ELC and get paid sooner on a similar-valued deal.

4) He has developed all he's going to develop in collegiate hockey. No benefit in playing senior year but there is a risk: the risk of a serious injury before he ever sees a penny of an NHL contract.

5) Many players finish their college degree work in the off-season. He'd have to pay for the courses but he could certainly afford it with an NHL signing bonus and ELC in his hand.

Gostisbehere is simply following Bennett's advice to enjoy the national championship and then sit down with his family advisor (officially hiring an agent would make him forfeit senior year of eligibility and leave him with no leverage with Flyers).

Really, that is all there is to see here.

This kind of logic certainly makes a ton of sense. There were a decent amount of people that thought he would sign over the weekend and actually be an option during the playoffs.

I guess there is no need to worry now.

Haha... that means next to nothing. The way this franchise rolls, Ghost will announce he's returning to Union for his Senior season, and half hour after that Emery leads the Flyers on the ice at MSG.

and then there will be paragraph after paragraph of complaining by gepettiaccio that the Flyers never tell anyone anything.

The way this franchise rolls? All the negativity is amazing. How about some positive thoughts as the Flyers are heading to the playoffs.

I don't pay close attention to other franchises injury guidelines. I would think it's pretty similar with all teams. They want to keep things close to the vest.

I think that will be a nice addition. Maybe Gostisbehere needs to get in his ear.

I was at the game yesterday. Things I noticed. 1. Heeter was very VERY nervous. The first goal should have been stopped. I sat to the right of him very high up. The team in general did not play well until they were down 4 to 1. 2. Luke Schenn skates a lot better than I thought. He isn't that great north to south, but stopping and starting and his initial burst is actually pretty fluid. 3. Couturier is slow but his stride and his IQ is unreal. UNREAL. If he used his slap shot period..he would be a 20 to 25 goal scorer. He is a beast. 4. Lastly, the team was not ready to play. They were absolutely playing to get through and get read for the Rangers. I for one was glad to see them wake up some at the end. With our real team playing, we crush that team. All in all, it was a good game. You knew we weren't winning a shootout. But to make it that far after the 4 to 1 score. I salute a hard playing team.

I watched him play and was wowed, but I never expected him to be playing for the Flyers this playoffs. (Maybe yesterday, if Union had lost Thursday night. Obviously if BC had played Saturday Gaudreau wouldn't have played in Calgary yesterday, either.)

he did and he's 6-4! He also lost his angles and net a lot. I'll chalk it up to nerves. Good thing it didn't matter for the team.

When he says that. He can't be accused of lying Bc he gave himself an out. He is implying theres more to know. If hes fine then Why is he listed day to day?
