No, yesterday and today make it obvious we don't

Funny enough while Scott has been playing defense rarely have I thought "he needs to go". He's kinda ignorable in the handful of minutes he gets. It's actually a little refreshing considering how many sabres are unignorably bad.

Still, I wouldn't resign him.

I'm just hoping he makes it through the game healthy

Yeah I forgot about that...... hope he doesn't break a finger nail.

The league wants him gone and to be honest I do too. There are just way better options at this point. He's not intimidating anyone

There's a buyout period, if I'm not mistaken

I agree and I think it's unfortunate, for him at least. He seems like a nice guy that tries his best to perform a "role" without killing anyone.

Even in the fight that just happened you could tell he wasn't looking to destroy the kid. He got clocked hard and went down with a smile on his face.

I think the while situation just goes to show how important your image is. Lucic is, in my opinion, a player with a mean streak that strays too often into questionable. Yet he is unquestionable skilled and "gets his way" to a certain extent.

How many times has Scott speared someone in the nads (as lucic has on several occasions just this season) but he can barely touch anyone without getting a misconduct.

Yesterday showed it perfectly IMO. Lucic deserved a misconduct for his late hit on dagostini, or at least a double minor. Scott barely touches him and gets a misconduct.

Is this the last year teams can buy someone out? Don't the sabres still have both available?

Pretty much, and the whole notion that Scott protects players from getting run is false too, we just saw Ruhwedel get a dirty hit laid on him with no response

Don't you think the league has made it pretty clear you can't respond in situations like that? I think everyone is aware of it at this point. Scott will get penalized so run buffalo players at your leisure.

Basically, that's why unfortunately guys like Foligno or dip sh1t Weber need to do the "policing"

The league wants enforcers out, they already are taking steps by not letting people take off their helmets

And yet chara basically gets free reign. Messed up.

I don't mind removing enforcers if you make sure the officials on ice are doing their best to appropriately penalize situations that would need enforcing. Then the league needs to back it up with appropriate suspensions.

IMO without those two things removing the "enforcers" is just opening up players to take more dirty hits with little consequence. Lucic last night is a prime example.

I think it comes down to respect. The Bruins are a great team so they get the benefit of the doubt.

Chara used to get called for everything, sort of how Myers does now.

To add to that, I don't think the league respected Ruff and Regeir a whole lot, Ruff was known as a whiner and Regeir was tough to deal with, so hopefully that's changing

Seems kinda silly :/ shouldn't be able to earn your right to be cheap haha.

But I agree. Hopefully buffalo reaches that point eventually.

So if Leino is one buyout, will there be a second one? Has there been any talk of another possibility. I can't imagine they would just let the other one lapse unused. Weber?

Hmmmm. I really can't see the point of any other buyout. They have to reach the floor somehow.

No one else screams buyout IMO.
