He's very good but wasn't drafted because he is undersized and not a smooth skater. Intangibles out the wazoo, though. Played better in the semi than in the final. Opposite of Ghost (but neither were too shabby either night). Fun to watch.

His skating according to reports is not an issue anymore and has been called an excellent skater, better than Gilroy but not a lock for the NHL

I am not so sure anymore. What if that whole AV spat on calling out JT was meant to get him pissed in time for the playoffs? They have 2 days of practice to see what they want to do with Fast, Miller, or Carcillo for that last forward spot. Miller out of the 3 has the best offensive game.

I think Staal for ROR is a fair value deal but I don't see why either the Rangers or the Avs would do it from their points of view. The conditional pick from the Rangers is just a deal breaker though.

Food for thought: The Flyers have had Pronger on the IR for YEARS. I guess they are paying him his full salary while he is on the injured reserve list....but it does not count against the cap. If he retired he would be on an over 35 contract and his salary would be susceptible to a cap it. Big question: Isn't this circumvention by another name? Paying the guy his full salary and NOT having it count against the cap? He is signed thru the 2016-2017 season with a 4.9 million cap hit.
