I've thought about this before too. If I told you at the end of the regular season the Rangers would go 4-3 in their last 7 you'd be pissed off. If I told you they'd go 4-3 in their next 7 now you'd be extremely happy.

It really is tough to pick series, in which you have a rooting interest. There should be a law that says you can't do it. But, until that law is passed, I will take the Rangers in 7.

I remember a lot of Ranger fans really sweating that before it began. The Isles were really the only team to give us fits that yr in the regular season.

before that series, there was a lot of talk about the Islanders equating their magic of the previous playoff year in 1993. And, at the tail end of 93, the Islanders put a huge nail in the Rangers coffin by winning an overtime game at MSG on Pierre Turgeon's 50th goal.

Those were all part of the reasons why it was so damn satisfying to absolutely annihilate them in that playoff round.

Etched in my mind is still the tail end of Game 4 at the Coliseum with us up 4-2, ALL Ranger fans there at that point in the crowd & they were chanting SWEEP SWEEP & then Messeir scores on a breakaway & the place erupted! "And that my friends will bury the NY Islanders" Howie Rose.

Yupp, Blue too so I stick out. Its not that bad. Been to about 5-6 games now there. Not playoffs though.
