it depends on how worried he is about the team being intimidated, which probably is the biggest concern going into this series. Some things never change.

before the playoff series in 1982, 83, 85, 86 and 87 between the Rangers and Flyers that was the biggest worry then too, especially in 82 and 83

I hope the Rangers play their game and don't take the bait. Could really give them an edge this series

Yes, no offense , just because of the recent history. I really think though this is going 7. Gonna be real close, nasty series.

this is definitely the case ^^^

don't even joke about it

- jimbo83

Nope, I'm just going to hopefully watch a satisfying Rangers series win. Other than that you won't get much out of me.

none taken! I wanted Pittsburgh, but was worried that if we fell to that, we'd end up at WC 2 and play Boston, which I didn't want either. Flyers need game 1 more than the Rangers do.

Have a feeling Carcillo will def play. AV seems to like to matchup players against their ex teams believing they will play with more hate and passion against them. They also know how the players and the team plays.

I dunno, it seems to me that Philly's chances of winning really hinge on Giroux, Hartnell, and Simmonds. Every other area seems to be edged out by the Rangers. Those 3 guys, maybe also Voracek, need to have a career series for the Flyers to win.

I really think Philly will have a collapse of epic proportion in goal. And partly to blame will be their defense which I view as slow compared to the quickness of the Rangers 3 scoring lines. They tend to give up a lot of passing lanes which kinda works right into the gameplan of guys like Brassard and Zuccarello who play tic tac toe in the offensive zone.

The biggest challenge will be the Rangers Defense taking the puck away from the forechecking of Phillies top guys. If they can do that, I think we'll "separate" the Flyer's 5 man unit. Once we let the defensemen settle into the point, they can be very dangerous with guys like Hartnell and Simmonds creating havoc down low causing our forwards to collapse and play too low. So it'll be up to McD and G and Staal to get the puck early and move it up and out.

It'll be a grueling series, but if the Rangers play their game, I don't think Philly matches up very well. Its really up to the Rangers if they're gonna lose, cause the D and Goaltending should be good enough to stop Philly.

My girlfriend compares me to Jimmy Fallon from fever pitch. She just knows she has to wait till the summer to get 100% of my attention.

I slightly disagree. I think its gonna be a roller coaster. I think Mason stands on his head and steals a game or two but also blows a game or two as well.

career series? lol. I love reading stuff like this. Reading this sounds like the Rangers went 4-0 against the flyers this season.
