Jack Capuano is the 7th longest tenured NHL coach. He's bottom 5 in win % and his team has finished bottom 5 three out of his 4 years here.

Yeah...the 7th longest tenured part appeared in the Newsday article and made me

"If we have an opportunity to add to our staff, the way we'd look to add a player, then we'll do that."

Mr. Snow...we've seen you try to add a player. Please don't.

Add to the coaching staff? Why because three lousy coaches are not enough?

Jack Capuano to return as head coach for the Islanders
By Brian Stubits
" ...

It's a mild surprise to see Capuano sticking around in Long Island for a fifth season. He has a record of 118-120-39 in his 277 games behind the Islanders bench and this season the Isles just finished eighth in the eight-team Metropolitan Division.

The Islanders finished 34-37-11, the same exact record they had in 2011-12, the most recent 82-game season. Throwing out the lockout season and all of its eccentricities with a small sample size, there was no improvement there. For a guy who was thought to be on a hot seat entering last season, it's a slight surprise he's sticking around.

At the same time, though, it's not such a surprise because this is the Islanders we're talking about here. They don't change often with their structure, GM Garth Snow has been on the job for years now and it's not like he has the best resume to show for it.

I understand why he's back and knew he would be, being as Wang is too cheap to pay someone more money, and Snow is too dumb to realize the problem. That said, my issue is with the various fans throughout the internet who would defend him. All I can say is if you know someone who is a coach, show him a tape of one of the games and have him explain it to you, like one did for me. It's not pretty.

Garth Snow tells Newsday that John Tavares just sliced his own Achilles tendon "when he got wind of coach Capuano coming back." Story to come. #Isles

The players love Cappy. I'd love my boss too, if he didn't make me do any work and no one above him gave a sh* t.

Isles players have a sweet deal with Cappy and Garth. They always have extra time off in missing the playoffs to play golf or Xbox in KO case.

I was going to say it might as well have been audio only, but thankfully he agreed to do the interview in costume:

Proud of the way he was able to contribute when the games meant nothing, as usual.

I'm honestly not all that surprised that Cappy is back. Not that I agree with it at all. I would have let the whole staff go however I still firmly believe that the lion share of the blame goes to Snow. He failed miserably this offseason and did not address the issues that were plaguing this team. It seems to me that cappy staying on is an admission of guilt by Garth

Don’t think it really matters, Dan. No one’s job is at risk, so it's not of much consequence who takes the blame within the “circle of trust.” I’m sure they’re trotting out the injury nonsense rather than actually worrying about accountability.

Yeah but at the same time this is the 3rd time in 4 years Cappy has finished bottom 5 in the league. It's not surprising because we have one of the worst owners in the history of sports.

I think it was during yesterdays pregame show where Capuano said he won't use injuries as an excuse but by the time the interview was over he mentioned the injuries 3 different times #fackinggongshow

That was classic minor league Cappy. The idea of not one of these coaches on this staff are getting replaced is sad.
