I don't know about you guys, but I hate how games 6 and 7 are back to back when the beginning of the series is so spread out

Yep. I agree. Not a fan of a potential game 7 being the second game of a back to back.

I picture Bettman as Caesar and the Flyers as the Gladiators.

Bettman doesn't want the Flyers resting much so they keep them banged up going into the next series. Dirty tactic.

Yes, yet again poor scheduling. Seems the NHL isn't quite top dibs compared to other things you might book at MSG or WFC.

FYI Game 4 of the Penguins/Flyers 1st round in 2012 was April 18th, a day after game 1 occurs this year.

keyed up!!! let it start already! if they can win game 1 and then have the rags get assailed by the media for 3 days going into game 2.....imagine the pressure!

as for hartnell's spear....giroux took a stick to the face about 5 min before that and hartnell was slashed pretty good instigating his reaction. personally i was ok with that much more than what they failed to do yesterday when their goalie got trucked and nobody did poop about it. he really let up on the spear so no supplementary discipline forthcoming, imo

I would lean towards McGinn as well. Main reason being he doesn't seem to take bad penalties.

I think it'd be a mistake not to dress Rinaldo. I'm not sure how he doesn't deserve the opportunity? Yeah bad decision he made last week. But really thats his only slip up this year worth griping about. I want him out there to give some of these rangers something to think about.

This

Flyers dont seem to play with any kind of edge against them. Hopefully something happens early

Simply because I don't think you can trust Rinaldo. If he goes off the reservation in a playoff game, it could be the difference between wining and losing the series.

Probably the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time.

The last (meaningless) game of the season. Why would you put yourself in a position of possibly being suspended for a game or more right before starting the PO's?

Fair enough. I'm willing to take the risk for what he can bring to energize the team because we all know they will go through offensive ruts in this series. I also think his play throughout the year has been deserving of this chance.

He's probably going to get a chance. What he did against Buffalo was ridiculous. I have no idea what he was thinking. Rinaldo has to play on the edge to be effective, he never gets any benefit of the doubt from the referees, not sure if the potential energy he brings offsets the penalty risks.

I agree. I understand why some are worried about it. But Rinaldo is a player that can help the Flyers, and provide that physical edge on the forecheck.

I just want to point out what a strong regular Season Mark Streit had for the Flyers. Had another 2 assists today, finished with 44 points and in the top 20 in scoring among all NHL defenseman. And that's without being a regular on the top PP unit. He was much maligned and written off as a bad signing by a few before the Season was very old. Well it turns out the GM got another one right.

year 1 of the Streit signing was excellent.

It was certainly a bad decision. But I don't personally see it as suspension worthy.

I would play him in MSG. Rangers are the faves by far for first 2 games. Rolling the die is in our favor. And Rangers are the 24rth ranked team in home pp % and we are the top pp team on road and have the 2nd ranked pk on road.

There are few players as a Coach you can count on to tap their shoulder and tell him to wake us up. Rinaldo can do that.

Goals in this series will be at a premium. Don't figure there will be many 5-4 type games. Even though the numbers you posted are true, can't afford to put any team on the PP constantly.
