I'd love to see Simmonds get #30 here in OT.

Union's like $30K a year... w/ no sports scholarship, I wouldn't be surprised if his parents would push him to finish it out before turning pro.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if he stayed for another year. At least it would prevent the Flyers from rushing him in.

I think he's ready for the AHL and I don't want to risk losing him. I want them to just get it done now and send him to the Phantoms for at least 1 year.

Has he ever had a hat trick. It seems like he has a ton of two goal games but never a hat trick

He just won the National Championship, and was arguably the best player in the tournament. Nothing left to prove at the college level. If he returns to the armpit that is Schenectady it's not a great sign that he wants to play in Philadelphia.
- PLindbergh31

Or maybe it's because he just won the National Championship with a group of people he probably considers his brothers and the idea of playing one more year with those guys sounds appealing.

That's true. But the possibility of injury usually steers kids with big time futures away from returning to school. Will be interesting to see what happens. I think one year in AHL, then NHL.

But what about what the kid wants?

I don't blame some of these kids for wanting to finish what they start -- he's 18 hours removed from winning the national championship.

If he's ready to come, he'll come. But I don't blame some of these kids, especially ones who aren't completely physically developed, for having some hesitation.

They can read, and they see how it turns from a fun sport to the focus of your life, where people write things about you and say things about you that are just...crazy.

When he's ready to come, he'll come.

I love this team, but god damn they are retarded sometimes. He's getting suspended.
- Flyers1218

I am wondering if he will get fined or suspended... Of course, he has to get kicked out in a meaningless game vs Carolina.. Fack..

Heeter really gives a lot of room on his blocker side. At least when they are coming down the right boards.

I've seen that referred to as the "AHL side," as in if you get beat there, then you're heading to the AHL

It would be hysterical if they ended the season winning a shootout with Cal Heeter in net.

It's his decision. I'm looking at this from a Flyers standpoint. It's better for them that he sign now rather than have him go back to college.

Hey guys, remember the last time we finished the season in a shootout?
