I'm torn between Ehlers and Ritchie for the pick (assuming Ekblad, Reinhart, Dal Colle, Draisaitl, Bennett and Dal Colle go top 6). Ehlers is roughly half the size of someone who would fit in with the Boston model so I assume they would pass on him.

This team does need to usher in some personnel changes, but that doesn't remove the fact that we've had less than good coaches for a fair number of years now.

I still believe we're much closer to a playoff team that can't get out of the first round because we have no secondary scoring and sh!tty coaching as opposed to the 25th best team in the league.

Speaking of drafting, does anyone think Calgary will most likely take Ritchie?

They're only "excuses" when you're attributing blame in hindsight. Those who saw these failures coming weren't making preemptive excuses - we were pointing out the incompatibility of the situation, dysfunction/flaws of the decision making, & projecting (accurate) results (even though it got us labeled bipolar at the time).

Next year's projections will depend on what Linden does over the next few months...

We have the same needs that we have had for a while. Scoring.

Watching the game last night and they are talking about # of shots by the Canucks.... How many games have we seen them throw close to 40 shots at the other net and lose...?

We are a 1 line team and that line was ineffective after Christmas this season.

That 4 on 3 last night when we had the Sedins passing the puck around and nobody standing in front was effective puck control but no threat to score.

We do need more edge with that scoring but don't need stupid penalties. This is what has been lacking since the run.

Hopefully we see some moves by the new GM to acquire another pick. I'm not in favour of trading ours away; in today's NHL, drafting is so much more the lifeline of your organization.

depends, I think they'll take Virtanen ahead of ritchie because he's RH and they lack depth on the RW. Thats if they are picking 5th.

If picking 4th they'll take whichever of bennett/reinhart/dalcolle is left
