Should Canucks offer Hansen + to WPG for Burmistrov? Then try to coax him to come play in the NHL?

I can see why a player would chose Russia over Winnipeg ,but Vancouver lifestyle might be more appealing.

I like Burmistrov however he's a dead asset at this point, not sure i'd offer more then like a 2nd or 3rd

Very interesting idea.....although I don't think that you'd need to include the plus, burmistrov is a lost asset to Winnipeg.....

Unless you have absolute assurances that he's willing to come, you don't even go that high IMO.

Was wondering about the value of the plus . it was not going to be much ,maybe a fringe NHLer like Eriksson

Vancouver if they had the rights could sweeten the contract for him.

Indeed.

His KHL numbers are decent, 54gp 10g 27a 37pts.

And he wears number 69

Did anyone else get the opinion that CBC loves Trevor? The high praises about class after the game . I have a feeling the NHL and media could not stand Gillis.

If I were the Oilers, I'd offer Eberle, Yakupov, Nurse and your 1st to Nashville for Shea Weber. It's probably not quite enough, but it would get Nashville moving in your direction.
- DariusKnight

That is enough. I can't see Nashville, with Weber's gargantuan contract, getting a better offer than that.

Oilers would be nuts to give that up.

I think a D core should have a puck mover , a tough guy, a guy with a good hard accurate shot , a stay at home guy and three reliable Dmen with size.

Puck mover : none
Tough guy : maybe Bieksa
Reliable guy , Hamhuis Tanev

I don't suggest trading Edler for a 7 th rounder ,but also anyone expecting Nyquist Tatar and a first may be dreaming.

I think his return will be a player like Suter from Pits or along that line of player.

- VANTEL

I was hoping Soupy was coming back in the Luongo trade.

He doesn't have the toughness, but is a good puck mover that can make his partner look good... (Garrison)

Didn't see the game last night but Duthie's story probably speaks to a lot of their experiences with the Canucks brass.

I was listening to 1040 and I guess it was a little blurb for Moj's show and he is saying MG wasn't big enough to apologize to him after making fun of him at the team's buffet and was classless, etc... I thought it was funny when I heard he threw a jab at Moj a year or so ago, w/e it happened.

Media think they are gods in this town, with all the swag bs, and if you talk to anyone in public relations/promotions, you never get media unless you feed them.... Thin skinned bunch of asses.

We all know the CBC is a joke, they won't be around much longer so who cares what they think, do they really think?

Yes. Acquiring Burmistrov & wooing him back to the NHL should be on every GMs radar as a value play.

Agreed. I don't think I'd throw Hansen + just for his rights but if WPG granted the Canucks permission to speak with him they should absolutely give pursuit.

Given that it is Winnipeg we're talking about I feel there's every bit the possibility that he left because he didn't like the city (and possibly the team) as opposed to not being given the opportunities he was after.

They, media, act like they are all professional one moment and then are stupid and childish to each other the next... Just having fun. MG sees Moj feeding at the trough and he can't take a jab about pigging out.... weak.

I like the label they use in England, "news reader'.

Half the time the media here think they are the "celebrities" because they stand next to celebrities + athletes and female dog and moan about them.

I agree about CBC but the perception in General is changing . It is huge when comes to calls on the ice. Remember when we could not buy a penalty ? To me image does matter.

I thought Gillis did have some low points as well as high points. I liked when he shunned the CBC but then thought it was classless when he insulted Moj.

This is what I am thinking too . Hansen being a fan of the peg and his lovely wife would probably jump at the offer.

Can't tell if you are serious.

Gillis wasn't prepared to deal with the media to the extent a GM in a Canadian market is expected.

Not really sure about his relationship with Moj to that point. If you don't normally joke around with someone and then joke at their expense, I guess it makes sense Moj would be offended.

How often are these media types critical of athletes they are covering? Can anyone be critical of them?

I like Moj in small doses but find him plugging all his friends a bit tiresome.
