Yeah but the thing is there is a difference between trolling around about a trade and "criticizing".

People hate the first one, but are certainly fine with the second one.

- Giroux_Is_God

I suppose. "Trolling" is very subjective I guess.

I personally enjoy the dark humor, more so than blindly defending move after move. Homerism is more annoying to me which is also done, but I'll stop here.

There is a game at hand hooligans!

Well, that was kind of my point.. It's funny because he isn't all that bad when he's not required to skate anywhere..

Yeah, all kidding aside, he was great for us in 2009...

I know and agree bud.. when I am watching games, I cheer for the team and have orange coloured glasses.. I do try to look at the team objectively though when assessing strengths and weaknesses..
- Hextall271

I pretty to let my emotion control how I feel. That's what life is about. Not some boring robotic view.

Tonight, they came out like poop and have settled in nicely. More than anything I want Mason to get on a roll here. Kind of average lately.

Bylsma was talking about Pittsburgh needing to play a tighter defensive system.

While I agree with that, the strength of that team is their offense. Shutdown D just may expose them as a team.

- flyer_nutter

The main thing they need to do is minimize turnovers and bad penalties. Do that and things should be fine.

Lets get real here. Who has played better this year. Downie or Talbot.

Whats the big deal in admitting that. God forbid! Nobody is burning a Flyers sweater.

- flyer_nutter

Yup, Talbot has played better this season than Downie.

That doesn't change the fact that the same few people only come on this forum to complain and usually are quiet when they do something right.

"Omg the other team showed up and played, Flyers suck"
"Steve Mason didn't shut out every team this season, lol flyers goaltending????"

That's literally what you sound like. You shouldn't call yourself names like that.

I like gill more than schenn
- Flyersgod

Gill isn't a stupid player, and knows his limitations.

I actually like Grossmann more than Luke Schenn, but that's me. If they do look to move someone off that back end, I would be pretty open to either being moved. I have never been a huge Luke Schenn guy.

If it wasn't for Grossmann's injury history I'd be all for keeping him instead.

Looking forward to seeing how that D holds up in the playoffs, should help them determine what changes to make.

Is Downie a healthy scratch or is his head still not right. He's not a bad player, just too many concussions since coming back. He clearly hasn't been fully recovered.

I wouldn't say look down on people, but alright. This is getting a little weird, I'll step aside.

I like a Schenn and Andrew MacDonald paired together.

Yeah, and blindly thrashing trades and the GM is just as ridiculous, isn't it?

Looking at moves and trades and signings needs to be as unbiased as possible. Look at all factors- looking at the rationale behind the move. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. Period.

Wanna rag on the JVR Schenn trade for example? Fine. Yeah, JVR has had a good season, and has been the better player. But that deal was made from a position of strength to address a weakness, and we don't know what we have in Schenn quite yet. He's still only 24. The rationale for the trade is sound, but it hasn't worked out yet. Hopefully it will.

You want me to criticize? You want me to not be blind? Fine. The Sharp trade was a huge mistake. I thought it was the second the trade was made. Oh well. But god forbid we ignore it and just move on.

With Timo and Grossmann out today, he's playing #1 minutes.. could you imagine him doing that over an entire season?

It's been pretty nuts the way Mac just seems to bring out the good Luke Schenn, eh?

Have to say, Gill someone manages to not get noticed.

If he keeps that up, good enough for me.

- flyer_nutter

I noticed a couple neat plays he made including a mid air swap of the puck at the blue line, thwarting a Penguins rush.

They work well together. It's a good pairing because they compliment each other's style.
