It's the game of HOCKEY, not the game of penalty shots. how stupid. The road to the Cup begins in the regular season, yet some people fall off the road because they can't win shootouts... when shootouts aren't even a factor come playoff time. Why is that? Because HOCKEY decides hockey games, not penalty shots. We can't have a tie in the regular season? If 2 teams play a WHOLE period of OT (which is INCREDIBLY exciting), and it can't be decided, at least they had more than 5 minutes of HOCKEY to decide a HOCKEY game... to take the next step on the road to winning a HOCKEY championship. Hockey should decide hockey, not penalty shots. asinine.

i feel like a moron for even feeling this way because those that "know hockey" and are so much smarter than me think the shootout is brilliant and makes perfect sense. It makes NO sense. it makes NEGATIVE sense. BACKWARDS sense.. assssssinnninnneeee..

It's like deciding the game of football by a QB throwing the ball at a tire 100 yards away, while being pressured by a defense. That's silly. That's not football. Or baseball being decided by a homerun contest. After all, they can't play continuous overtime... especially when they play 160 games a year!!! But they don't have a homerun competition to decide the team sport of baseball. They don't have a QB competition to decide the team sport of football.. WHY do we have this individual penalty shot competition to decide the TEAM SPORT OF HOCKEY!?!?

I don't want them too. Let it really soak in how much they suck all summer by going 0-14 or whatever we are at now. Hopefully Boston beats us in a shootout.

Not sure why we wouldn't bring back Fayne. He is 26 or 27 and is steady. Zid is 37, and while he has been great for us, he is taking a spot away a younger player. If they don't resign Fayne, Larsson better be on the top pairing with Greene consistently.
