Gallant Too bad he can't skate or he would have a role next year. They just called up Johnson another career minor league goon. Tonight's game vs the Devs could get nasty tonight
- Vukota

The Islanders have more useless goons the last 4/5 years late in the yr suiting up. Trevor Gillies, Haley, remember Mitch Fritz?

8-2-1 last 11, as you always see me write, have to have perspective. Look at events long-term, not minutia of game to game, will go nuts if we do. Now in the playoffs, that goes out the window.
- airjan23

Something like 29-13 since something like December 20th, they've averaged over 3 goals/game since 1/1, 12-5-1 since the trade, and 12-7-? at home over the last 20 home games or so, much of that average home record was from early in the season. Remember that long homestand early that was to be the undoing of the Rangers? Off of that poor start, clinched home ice with a game to spare. I feel good about this team going into next week. LGR!

So whoever finishes in the wild card spot between Flyers & Blue Jackets plays the Rangers?

Maybe the worst player to ever dress for an NHL game in the history of the NHL

Whole new ballgame as we start the playoffs, ugly goals, spitting blood, guys gotta use the body that never do, its gonna be nasty whether its Philly or Columbus, as far as physicality of the series goes. I just hope all the boys are ready to protect themselves.
- B2B76

It is a whole new ball game but I still maintain the physicality of both those teams are a bit over-stated and I'm confident they can stand up to both.

No, the Rangers play the team that finishes third. The team that finishes as a wild card gets Boston or Pittsburgh

Philly is a good playoff team, Colombus would be out in 5 against the rangers

Based on?? The Rangers have had zero success in the playoffs recently right? That trip to the finals is a long time ago now, although, given the turnover in the Ranger roster since 2012, that season is now a long time ago now. I still maintain they aren't as physical as everyone makes them out to be.

Bring either one. The match-up in goal for certain favors the Rangers vs Philly, its a little more even vs CBJ. Although losing Horton is big.

Unless Philly plays Pittsburgh I don't see them advancing past Rd 1.

Nope I was implying the Philly Rags series would be much more competitive than the CBJ rangers series.

I was just figuring out Hank's number since January 1st, 21-7-3 2.09 and .931, too bad about the start of the season, he'd be right near the top

I agree, I do see whoever we play, it going 6 or 7 & it being a dogfight, its the playoffs, what else would we expect?

True, but Bob can steal games by himself, and there is the whole players traded rivalry. Not saying they cant beat Columbus, just think recent success against Philly might be a better matchup.

I got girls but I got them both pink Ranger gear, whether they get into it remains to be seen, too young. But when we were at the Coliseum last week for the Disney princess show my 5 yr old saw a billboard of Grabner & said "Daddy, its the Rangers". I had to say "No hunny, those are the guys WE DON'T like."

Yeah, listen, we all acknowledge anything can happen, however, the Philly at MSG thing has to be in their heads, and lets face it, McDonagh and Girardi kill Giroux and Hartnell, they do nothing against them, need that last change for 4 games. Thats huge, b/c if you take Giroux away, do they have another way to hurt you? Its not like they have a goalie who can steal them games...
