Ovechkin has been on the ice for more than 73 goals.

I get that 74 points minus 36 power play points equals 38, and then you added 38 even strength/shorthanded points to the -35 to get 73 even strength goals allowed. However, you forgot that he could be on the ice for a Caps even strength goal but not get a point. That means he has been on the ice for more than 73 goals, unless he got a goal/assist on every even strength goal when he was on the ice.

Ovie has been on the ice for FAR too many goals against this year. Can't you all just agree on that?

the bottom line, as has become increasingly clear, is that Ovechkin is a goal scorer, not a winner. he's the most one-dimensional player that the game has seen in a long time. he sulks. he abhors defence. he accepts no responsibility for anything.

there are teams who would take on his contract, i believe. the Islanders, Panthers and Canucks come to mind. but i would not want my team going near this guy.

All this does is reinforce the fact that he won the MVP last year was a farce of epic proportions.

Slight farce, minor miscalculation, not a farce of epic proportions though.

Only after he scores and has to take a faceoff all the way at the other side of the ice.

He still has time to change his ways, if he is willing.

Just needs a Scotty Bowman Type coach, perhaps.

In any case, that contract is not movable.

+/- is a stupid stat.
- Iggysbff

It serves a purpose when it's used in the proper context. Often it's overblown when used by itself.

In this case, it tells that OV is a lazy piece of poop, which is pretty accurate.

He's a coach killer.

He will be traded to the Penguins of course. Then Crosby will finally have that winger he needs.

Trades can't happen now. Its a rumor and we will hear more about it come the summer and especially the draft.
- Eklund

Can't trades happen but those players would be ineligible for this year's playoffs?

Thought I read that somewhere before but that was before the current CBA

It would hurt a lot more than that. Would be like ekmanlarsson this years and next years 1st and a blue chip prospect and that's just low ballin it

the rangers will buy out richards and then trade kreider, stepan, duclair, and a their first round pick in 2016 only because they already blew their 1st round in 2015 in the St. Louis trade. Go for it Glen!

ovehckin, much like kovalchuk will RETIRE? this summer and return to the KHL to play next season. he has lost interest in playing in washington, plus after playing in the olympics he found out how much more money he can make in russia. wouldn't be surprised if malkin doesn't do the same thing?
