As would Raffl's, or anybody's. That was my only point. If you play more minutes and play with better players, your offensive production will most likely increase.

It might, but with players that don't have the offensive ability, the increase might be negligible. And also have to look at it comparison ot the other player. So what do they want in that Center spot? Do they want a player who is better defensively, and in pressuring the puck. Or do they want to increase the offensive production of that line?

JSAQ brought up Berube being a player/coach yesterday.

Might be the best option! Hmmmmm... The cap ramifications......

- PLindbergh31

At least he could play a solid 4th line role without taking ridiculously dumb penalties

I'm always right. You just have to accept that you're wrong.

You might thinkt hat 1+1=2, because everyone else thinks so. But really, you need to look at the two one's and see that they fit better when they equal 3.

This is another situation where both the injury and playing out of position have to be taken into account. What has happened to his shot totals since being moved back to Center?
- MJL

He got 9-shots once recently, but other than that, it's been 1's and 2's.

And playing center full-time in Tampa last season yielded the same results.

That would be sarcasm, which is not a direct synonym of irony (although it was stated as much). I freely admit that I'm sarcastic as all get-out.

I keep forgetting Berube was on that 2000 team.
He's done a nice job as coach, but when I think about him preaching discipline with his 3000+ PIMS, I chuckle.

I think you're making too much of the center position. I just like the combo of Raffl with Simmonds and Schenn more than Vinny with Simmonds and Schenn.

I'm not sure if they plan on keeping Raffl at center. I'm sure they will for another game though.

This I agree with.

Watch two linemen get into a shoving+shouting match after the play in the NFL, and we let out a collective groan. Watch two NBA players come to blows after a hard foul, and we lament the days of short shorts and peach baskets.

Watch the same poop happen hockey? If you don't take part in it, you're soft, a rube, a mark. While the guy with his stinky glove in your face, or slashing you on in the back of the leg is a warrior, a good Western Canadian boy.

- Tomahawk

Both teams should have to clear the crease immediately when they whistle is blown and the refs should be able to call penalties if they seem to be starting up some bull poop. It's pathetic what goes on during a hockey game. Respect the sport and the player respect will come.

Most of his PIM came from fighting, at least that doesn't put you down a man.

And he scored at a near 60 point pace last year in Tampa. What is his shot total per game, playing on the 4th line since he has been moved back there? Also keep in mind that his shot totals are also likely to increase if he played on a line with better offensive talent. The bottom line is the ability is clearly still there with Lecavalier.

They've played how many games together? I'm willing to keep an open mind about it and see how it plays out. But I think it's asking a lot of Raffl at this point.

Rinaldo will be on a short leash if and when he returns....I see 3-4 games.....Can you trust him in playoffs? I like what he brings, BUT you can't hurt your team with dumb penalties.
Berube likes the kid....so he will get another chance....but there may come a time when the bad outweighs the good.
Berube also has to sense on some nights that the kid is just too wreckless....I mean he had 3 penalties last night before the goofy hit....I thought after the 2nd or 3rd one he should of sat and watched.
