My apologies to bo, you're right. I thought 6. I need to turn in my badge.

I just looked. They beat the Penguins, Sabres, and Rags by a combined 12-3 record, and then were promptly swept aside. Just nuts.

Also, 2 cool notes about Game 5 vs. Pittsburgh. 1) Rod Brind'Amour scored 2 SHG on the same penalty kill and 2) Mario's first last game.

No. Not even if it had the finest meats and cheeses known to man.

Bo, there were 6 games in this series. And yes it was awesome. Lindros sticking it with 6.8 to go. holy cow was hextall a flopping fish. Such poor technique.

I just checked and it was a five game series as I remembered.. I think they split the first two in Philly then the Flyers took both on the road..

he should be fined for this heinous act

That reminds me of the one kid on our block who had goalie equipment.

He was completely mismatched, but we didn't care because he was the only one who had goalie gear.

I feel like he should be able to.

He was too busy doing an ancient Flyers Health Dance to ensure Couturier/Giroux were all right. It's also known as "The Macarena."

I just can't get over how utterly stupid the Rinaldo hit was. I mean, even taking everything else away, if he just goes for a pokecheck, he probably mutes the shot and it's Flyers the other way. Just do not get it.

Thats what bothers me the most. He was contrite after the game, but it makes it hard to trust him.

Taking a major in the playoffs could really impact a series. Especially, when you consider how difficult it will be to score against a team like the Rangers.

It just doesn't make any sense at all. Take a play like Randy Jones on Bergeron or Hartnell on Andrew Alberts. Those were plays where the Flyer ended up caught in no man's land and was in a jam because of the Bruins player. But they were hockey plays that turned out bad. This one, the more I think about it, the more I don't want him in the lineup.

I don't think I'd take him out of the lineup unless McGinn plays really well on the 4th line.

I've really liked Rinaldo over the last few weeks. His last game was just a train wreck though. It's rare that an energy player scores a goal and you say he had a bad game.

Rinaldo's now opened the door to McGinn getting a shot at the 4th line. Coaches may end up liking his skill more than Rinaldo's energy.

I don't think you can have both Rinaldo and Downie in there at the same time.

Washington can still get to 91 so 2 points tonight clinches....90 might end up being good enough but it won't clinch tonight

I am bothered because I believed he was making progress.
Nearly all his hits this season were of the clean variety, not launching off his feet, shoulder to body.

He wipes out a whole season of improvement in one game of dumb.

When he gets back into a game, he now has to deal with his "reputation" and will not get the benefit on anything borderline. Which is what you point out.

Just read Paul Stewart's blog. The refs are human and will have a preconceived bias towards Rinaldo after this incident.

the part that makes this really suck is his first few games back will be playoff games. A couple of extra penalties can easily swing a series.

It has to play into the coach's mind set.
Especially if it is say NYRs where goals are hard to come by.
Will he even get to play?

I think he could be done for the season, but I won't be surprised to see Berube use him in the play offs. He should be on a tight leash.
