As strange as this might sound.... I think all the bottom teams making it into the playoffs are trying to position themselves so they play Pittsburg!

So the people there believe he's a goner?
- PhillySportsGuy

Rumors were from the start he wasn't a big fan of the city. Some stuff you cant be sure of, some say he got beat up at a bar his first year here. That he is a stuck up idiot when he goes to the clubs here. The lawsuit is civil not criminal as no charges were carried forward by police. Those are in Vancouver though, not even in Winnipeg.

Seems to just have a persona of being a punk, and Maurice wanted him to grow his game more. From what I have seen, he is best as rushing up the ice, and shooting the puck fast from a poopty angle. Joni Pitkanen like.

This city is pretty hard up to cheer for the NHL, and supports its team. Kane doesn't get that too much here. Not sure he wants to play here, that's the focal point of all the rumors. Which are just that, but generally where there is smoke there is some fire.

Look at that hook on Messier. Using him like a slingshot.

Really? I think the suspension is absolutely warranted. I'm content with the number of games too.

If he didn't launch himself at the dude's head, I'd agree with you.

But he launched himself at the opposing player's head. You can't do that.

That hit was a textbook example of a suspend-able hit. Principal point of contact was the head, and he launches himself up and into the hit. And he had time to avoid the hit.

There's no place in the game for headshots like that anymore.

If James Neal did that to Giroux would you have been OK with no suspension?

If not mentioned Laughton is suspended 3 games, as being reported. Nothing official from the OHL yet.

With Rinaldo you have to expect something like that every year. With the speed he brings to every hit he's going to miss on occassion. Flyers realize that. As fans we should realize that.

What the coaches need to do is keep him to 8 mins a game and be very strict. He is just prone to making these dumb mistakes if he's more fatigued. Not to mention he's not skilled enough to be a 3rd liner anyway

I think what does have people fired up is that Neal is very much a repeat offender and yet the perception is that he gets away with questionable hits. Maybe he does; maybe he doesn't, but the NHL needs to be a little less subjective with head hits.

But what Rinaldo did was certainly worthy of suspension. He earned it.

In today's game, that EN goal is waived off and Lindros is in the box for hooking. Can't believe that wasn't called.

He gets a pass cause he scores a lit and adds an element of excitement that the NHL finds more important than consistency in punishment.
