I wasn't concerned about losing the game. I was just disappointed in Rinaldo. He wants to be so much more than just an energy player, but he still has huge mental lapses. There is no reason to even try and deliver a hit like that. It just showed that he still hasn't learned when to tone things down. How can they trust him if he's never going to learn?

I was honestly more worried about a retaliatory run at Giroux than losing.

Rangers will own the tiebreaker. The Flyers need to make up 3 points in order to get the #2 seed in the Metro.
- PhillySportsGuy

That's okay, I just don't want them in the a wild card spot. The Rangers match-up will be tough. The other lines are going to have to generate scoring because Giroux's line is going to see plenty of McDonough and Girardi. I do believe the other lines can do damage against Stralman-Staal and Diaz-Klein.

Of course, it goes without saying Mason is going to have to be good.

Andrew Alberts was the unsung hero of this game. Leading up to the Carter game winner, he had several furious shifts full of excellent defensive work, timely hitting, and even a shot that rang off of the post. When playoff time comes, you need different guys stepping up every night. It's nice when a guy like Alberts, who for whatever reason rarely gets praise, has a great outing.

Alberts' impact was probably magnified by the absence of Ryan Parent. He left in the second period with one of those mysterious lower body injuries and did not return, forcing the Flyers to rotate five guys on defense for the remainder of the game. Parent was seen in the locker room following the game in street clothes and did not appear to have any significant injury. Coach John Stevens didn't seem too concerned, either.

I just hate the Flyers Rangers matchup. Im not saying they can't beat the Rangers, but my confidence level is pretty low.

For whatever reason, they really have trouble getting anything going against the Rangers.

Good to hear, as Parent is a major piece of the defense heading into the playoffs.

COL's Patrick Roy tops amongst peers. 11 1st place votes out of 16, finishing well ahead of (in order) Julien, Babcock, Cooper and Boudreau.

Poor Chief -- no love for turning around an absolute train wreck when he took over

What Roy has done is far more impressive, IMO

I want to see a playoff series against the rangers. Havent since freaking 97. If we lose, well, we are kind of in the same boat we are in now. Kissing the collective nutsacks of the rangers

What can I say, I have fond memories of the last time they met in the playoffs in '97. I'm looking forward to it, no matter the odds.

Damn, do I miss Lindros. Too bad, he couldn't play in this era of hockey, he would truly be unstoppable.

So weird reading that.....things in happening in real life in 2009, seems like it's yesterday. Things that happened in flyerdome in 2009 seems like it was 10-15 years ago

my fondest memory of that series is gretzky's kid crying behind the glass when they got knocked out. and gretz's last playoff series ever.

My fondest memory was being there at Wells Fargo Center for the clinching game. The Rangers were behind in the third and putting Gretzky-Messier-Tikanen on a line together to catch-up. It was such a party after the game outside the arena.

Lindros was dominant in that series.

Two oldschool plays that you never see in hockey anymore.
1. That fishook to pull past Messier.
2. The 2nd Lindros goal, a slapshot from point blank range.
