Perfect? Who gets to make a 59 million dollar mistake, and compound that by making a brutal trade with JVR.

The trades of Carter and Richards brought good returns, but the bottom line is the team hasn't been a Cup contender since those trades.

I'm not getting into a debate about this, because I think Holmgren has made some good moves, but if someone suggested he be replaced by Hextall it's far from ridiculous.

- PLindbergh31

A GM whose team is backed by Comcast does. And if that was reason enough for Holmgren to be fired, it would've happened already. I disagree that the JVR trade was brutal. It was a good trade in my opinion.

The team is not expected to be a contender right away in making the Carter/Richards trades. It was known when those deals were made that it was taking steps backwards. Having the team's franchise defenseman go down to a career ending injury, is also not the fault of the GM.

Suggesting that Holmgren should be fired is ridiculous, in my opinion. He's a good GM who has done a good job. How does anyone know what kind of job Hextall would do?

COL's Patrick Roy tops amongst peers. 11 1st place votes out of 16, finishing well ahead of (in order) Julien, Babcock, Cooper and Boudreau.

Poor Chief -- no love for turning around an absolute train wreck when he took over

Should've gotten some consideration. He's done a great job.

Luke Schenn is a solid defenseman who is still young as has room for growth. JVR is a fine forward, but many overrate him. Defenseman are very valuable. Especially good ones.

That, we can agree on -- still amazed that he was able to do it with a few of the pieces he has on hand being young/inconsistent and with the overall composition of the defense

I really thought they'd have to do something bigger than MacDonald to get that defense to be playoff-caliber, and not ashamed to admit I was wrong about that

Colorado is having too good of a year in a better conference with many young unproven players. No brainer IMO

MacDonald has been a nice add to the team. But really, what's going to cement Holmgren's legacy as a GM, is the next year or so. His toughest challenge is coming. And that's trying to make the next few key moves to elevate the team to the top. That's going to be very difficult. He only has a few chips to work with. Have to make it count.

I don't mind Roy, and really not totally critical of that list

Just wish the national media knew just how bad it was at the start of the season -- it's like they've forgotten that this team was actually playing like it was the worst team in the league, by far -- and if something wasn't done, it was going to be a loooooonnnng 82 games

The national media did know. Most of them had the Flyers written off after the Emery brawl.

I think Berube deserves credit, but I'd have Roy or Cooper ahead of him. Babcock's done a good job with all the injuries in Motown, too.

I'd agree with that, as well -- he's going to have to expose himself and the franchise to what will likely be heavy risk, if they aren't willing to wait another 2-4 years for the hoped-for development of the defense prospects

They aren't going to sit back and wait that long, and I don't want them to. They are going to try and make some moves this off season. That I have no doubts of.

BTW, Berube and Hitchcock were just outside Top 5 in these highly unofficial Adams results.

Huh...I'd have it Roy, Babcock and Chief

I think Cooper's done extremely well in Tampa, but this thing was a full-fledged tire fire when Chief took over

It was, but Berube also has a superstar who was playing way below his normal levels due to an injury. as soon as G got going, they started winning.

That's why Berube won't get the credit that Cooper did/will

Not a fan of his, but Michel Therrien has the Habs playing some really good hockey. Not sure how many people saw them getting 100 points this year.

It was. And he took over a team that had a bad training camp and a bad start. And I was pleasantly surprised with Berube, and his Coaching style. In how he wants to play. I would've never chosen him, but I glad they did.

Therrien has done a good job, as well, although he gets questioned by many fans and media over his handling of Subban

A shame -- not that Cooper doesn't deserve everything he gets, because I really like how the Lightning play

Remember that presser when Laviolette got the shiv, the "Culture War"? One of the most hostile environments I've seen for that sort of thing -- Chief didn't even get his own training camp

In audio released by the Flyers, Rinaldo said the hit “slipped away from me” and laid some blame on Ruhwedel, who was bent over a bit.

“Just some bad timing and a little vulnerability on his side of the puck, too,” he said. “So my bad and his bad at the same time.”

Wait...What?

Ruhwedel was shooting the puck, Rinaldo launched into his head...how is it Ruhwedel's "bad"?

I swear I thought that team was going to tune out Therrien and while I respect Carey Price a great deal, I honestly did not know Max Pacioretty was a 40-goal winger

Those boys might actually be a tough out in the playoffs, if Price gets hot

That's BS on Rinaldo's part. Someone needs to talk to him about that.
