streit really has a cannon

no slight against kimmo, but i really wonder how many more points streit would have if he was on that #1 pp

Knee surgery for Lupul. Is Carlyle and Nonis going to survive this collapse? If they do they will try and pin it on injuries, but the Leafs train was off the tracks before they got crippled by injuries.

I think Nonis is safe for this off season. Carlyle may be a goner.

Yea but how many more shorthanded goals would have been given up with Streit on that #1 pp
- Daveflyers36

They may lead the League in SHG allowed if that were the case.

Impossible, with the great captain they have over there, it has to be injuries.

What would you give up for Trouba? Keeping in mind he is a top-tier young defenseman (basically, he is what we hope Ghost becomes).
- jmatchett383

I'd probably do Brayden Schenn, Ghost and a third for Trouba and a second, would totally be willing to haggle it out

I agree. Someone has to be blamed. It's Reimer, Phaneuf and Carlyle.

I don't think you're getting a second, I'm thinking switch those picks around. But that's probably the ballpark.

I feel like they'd want more, but I would do that trade. Its a lot, but trouba looks like a stud.

It's all the Leaf fans for ganging up on Reimer's wife (via Twitter, you sickos).

Probably right. Someone has to be held accountable.

Think Trouba's untouchable -- his ascension does make it more likely that Bogosian could get dealt. He has prime reclamation written all over him -- or he could be another Luke Schenn.

But they also could use a young potential #1 center like B Schenn. It's why I wish the Flyers/Predators traded more, they both have the areas of strength that the other lacks.

If we're going after more of the 09 defenseman crop, I'd only want the other 2 (which isn't gonna happen). No real interest in BoGo.

Bogo has been an enigma. He's been injured, and hasn't played particularly well. A change of scenery might do him a world of good. Think he could be obtained fairly reasonably?

I proposed the idea of B. Schenn for Josi. People seemed to be split on it.

I think the price would be relatively reasonable. Much less than going after a guy that isn't battling injuries and a down year, that's for sure.

He moves better than Schenn, though -- that's the thing about Schenn that will limit his minutes. I'm not saying he's slow, or trying to start an argument. But Schenn's skating is the weakest part of his game

I'd probably do Schenn/Ghost for Bogosian, TBH -- granted, I haven't seen a ton of his games so I don't know if he's totally clueless in his own zone. But if he was adequate in his own zone, I'd do it

I'm very split on it. I'm leery of trading a young forward who's had a breakout year for a defenseman after the JvR deal (although it was a breakout year followed by injuries). If push came to shove, I'd probably do it, though.

I think they will. They have successfully thrown James Riemer under the bus to the extent where I think both get another year to put it back together. Carlyle, himself, has only been there for 2 calendar years, with this being his second full season with the Leafs.

The Leafs just give up too many shots.

In Washington, however, I wonder what pictures GMGM has of Ted Leonsis.
