I'm always right. You just have to accept that you're wrong.

You might thinkt hat 1+1=2, because everyone else thinks so. But really, you need to look at the two one's and see that they fit better when they equal 3.

We're all capable of being smug. But most of us will own up to it when proven wrong

I think you're making too much of the center position. I just like the combo of Raffl with Simmonds and Schenn more than Vinny with Simmonds and Schenn.

I'm not sure if they plan on keeping Raffl at center. I'm sure they will for another game though.

- PhillySportsGuy

Apparently it's bubble hockey and the guys are on rails... keep VL in the middle of that 2nd line and he'll be back to his 33-goal pace scoring ways, right?

On a serious not, I think Raffl's only in the middle b/c he's been surprisingly good on draws.

i like it too, for the same reasons. defensive responsibilty, dogged puck pursuit. now, if we could just wash the patrick thoreson hands off of him, we'd really have something.

They've played how many games together? I'm willing to keep an open mind about it and see how it plays out. But I think it's asking a lot of Raffl at this point.
- MJL

It's a hunch.

However, Vinny, Schenn and Simmonds have played enough together for me to see they don't fit together.

Yep. Then again, I have broken the speed limit countless times. I guess that means I'm a law breaker, just like rapists and murderers.

And he scored at a near 60 point pace last year in Tampa. What is his shot total per game, playing on the 4th line since he has been moved back there? Also keep in mind that his shot totals are also likely to increase if he played on a line with better offensive talent. The bottom line is the ability is clearly still there with Lecavalier.
- MJL

The good news for Vinny is he is playing against the other teams 4th line....I mean him against John Scott!!!! he should be getting some good looks.

When Vinny was on pace for 33 goals, he was shooting 19%. But, again, that doesn't matter. What he did last year, matters more than what he's doing this year.

Just wanted to say that I've been a supporter of Lecavalier as a player. I think the talk of his demise is short sighted. But I was wrong about one thing with Lecavalier. I thought he would be able to adjust to playing the Left side. I was wrong about that. It's clear that he can't play the LW spot effectively. He's a Center and he needs to be playing center. And I think he should be centering the 2nd line.

Most goal scorers are streaky and will go through hot and cold streaks. Not uncommon.

I think it is an unknown that should be looked into. See how they handle games vs. Two bad teams and than give them a chance against Tampa and pitt and see how they do. Raffl might not put up the best numbers, but if he increases schenn and Simmonds' production than it has to be considered a success right?

That combo of players was just atrocious... think Chief's pretty much given up on ever being able to force-fit those pieces together.

How many glorious chances did Giroux gives his linemates yesterday with those no look passes. It would be very interesting to see him with a real sniper on his left side instead of the Clydesdale Hartnell. He would give the top dogs a run for the scoring race if that happened. He is just so creative and needs a player with him that can understand his vision.

It just wont work. There were several times in the Bruins game where all 3 got caught below the offensive goal line. How the (frank) does that happen? Do any of them have any awareness?

Vinny Lecavalier Stats
Year Goals/Game
2006-2007 0.634146341
2007-2008 0.49382716
2008-2009 0.376623377
2009-2010 0.292682927
2010-2011 0.384615385
2011-2012 0.34375
2012-2013 0.256410256

Even if we throw out his HUGE dip in the 2009/2010 season, he's had a steady decline each year since 2006. I don't think he'll even return to his glory days. 20 goals, yes, 30+, no.

BSchenn, if he is going to be a success as a two way center, he has to be the defensively responsible guy.

I think he could be, but in that last Boston game he (along with a lot of their forwards really) were pressing offensively and cheating. It killed them.
