After some early season success, McGinn has been awful this latest call up.

The pickings are very slim, they really don't have any credible options if Berube isn't going to play Downie.

Apparently, they're bothered by Akeson's +/- at ADK

I don't know anymore...I'd just like to see McGinn use his size more effectively...otherwise, what's the point of recalling him instead of Akeson or Velveeta?

give the kid a (frank)ing chance. some players play better against better competition or when the game really matters like that douche claude lepuke. not saying he doesn't need to pay attention to his own end of the ice and playing without the puck...but he might "get it" in the big show.

Not sure why Akeson doesn't get a chance. I don't know much about him. I know he's not big, and wouldn't be a good option to play on the 4th line, I wouldn't mind giving him a look on a line with Read and Couturier. Play him with the two most defensively responsible forwards, and maybe his defensive shortcomings can be minimized. Maybe he can produce a little offense at the NHL level too.

the effort, energy, and skating is there from mcginn, but he doesn't generate much.

Jonesy's analysis of Seguin deflecting a point shot into his own net from the top of the circle:

"You see Seguin try to knock that puck down, but instead it bounces off the ice and past Kari Lehtonen and into the net...not good...he feel shame, and the Panthers are right back in this game, tied at 2."

It will just be nice to have Laughton next year.

I, honestly, believe Schenn and Vinny are difficult to play with. They seem to need the right linemates. Kind of like the way all of our defenseman (Except Kimmo) need a good partner in order to be effective.

I agree...What good is having a bigger guy like McGinn if all he's going to be is a perimeter player 3 nights out of 4?

this

EDIT: Plus, you never know- maybe he finds chemistry with a few guys and really rattles off some good games.

It's worth a shot at the very least

I think its difficult to know how bad it is right when it happens. I was hit in the ear with a fastball and it hurt like a female dog. I thought id never hear out of that ear again, but I turned out to be fine.

He was definitely bleeding, but hopefully it doesn't impact his hearing at all. I doubt it, but I guess anything can happen.

He just doesn't do anything...He should be more involved. I get he can't score on his own, but he's got to be more involved to justify the call up
