Not true. Downie was a big catalyst in the Flyers turnaround. Their record with him and without him is staggering.

He has issues, for sure, but he's been a solid pick up

When he was healthy at first he contributed for sure, and did help turn the team around. But since the first concussion, he's been really ineffective, and has been a liability with his undisciplined play.

I think the trade made sense when it was made, Flyers were struggling mightily scoring goals,I guess you can't fault Holmgren for Downie getting injured.

He's inconsistent, terrible on defense, can't decide if he wants to play wing or center, he disappears for weeks at a time....he's horrendous.

It is nice to get back to winning though. Jake really set the tone in the first. He was flying and had that look like he would out the team on his back. I'm concerned about Kimmo though. Looks a bit off, but the man is a warrior.

Hopefully this game will give schenn some confidence to stop blowing.
