This is typical of most Philly teams. Have no hope they'll be good at start of season... Reel you in and make you believe they can do it... Then fail as soon as your body can't hope any further, leaving you in a pile of steaming orange and black pooh.

Just feel bad for Ray, he had a real good game.
Team didn't get it done again.

Having the 2nd line out against Bergeron for a key defensive zone draw turned out to be an awful move.

Buffalo will be motivated to play spoiler
and I have little confidence with the April road trip to Florida. Those are historically bad games for the Flyers.

Making the playoffs is likely going to come down to the very last games.

It's just...they've done so many good things to put themselves in a good position.

I'm not blinded by orange, and I'm honest enough to admit that the Bruins are farther ahead than we are by maybe...two years.

But you're right: They haven't clinched anything, and while the math still favors them, the last three games have given three teams -- the Leafs, Columbus and New Jersey -- far more room than they should have to really eff up the Flyers' season

Regression is a mean female dog, ain't it?

Not going to keep winning games when the other team routinely has the puck more, you're constantly playing from behind, and you can't outscore the opposition at ES. Can only ride special teams, goaltending, comebacks and luck for so long before it catches up with you.

Flyers don't need forwards. They need some defenders who can skate and push play up the rink.

Luke Schenn and Grossmann suck
Kimmo is old and he doesn't have much jump left.

Well they are at the very least in control of their destiny. That they have in their pocket.

As well, we all have to be realistic about them. Its easy to get sucked in after the hot streaks.

All I want to see, more than anything is a nice organic growth toward the future. Toward relying less on hot/cold streaks, and establishing yourself as an elite team for a few years.

The stupidity by management, outlined in the moves presented on the previous page really hinder that. If you really want bSchenn to be your 2nd line center for years, stop moving him back and forth with an aging idiot in LeCavalier. If you want Couturier to be a dynamic center on your team, stop stunting him by always throwing him out against the hardest matchups giving him little room to grow an offensive game.

Its that stupid trying to "win now" poop. Holmgren should be out on his ass, and I don't see how a GM has survived the Bobrovksy, Bryzgalov, Luke Schenn, LeCavalier deals, and having the most expensive D core in the NHL that is far too slow and one dimensional (just to name a few). Riding the coat-tails of the past.

They need everything. I don't have faith in Homer getting any dmen to be #1 guy.

I wouldn't even give Kimmo 6 million next year
Turn Streit into the top pp quarterback.
Try and trade for Weber
Lose Grossmann sign a puck mover.

Two pieces that are supposed to initiate secondary scoring on this team.

That likely wouldn't even have a place on the Bruins squad today. Absolutely brutal, and have to be hidden at this point b/c they are hurting you defensively.

But hey, lets all start on Giroux who has carried this team on his back.

Ah, you must be the one that called Vinny a piece of s###. Disappointing week for the team. We needed those guys to step up as well as others. Lots of -2's today. I realize that these guys are getting a ton of money and they owe it to the fans to produce. And valid criticism comes with it. What I don't understand is the name calling and relentless attacks on to one or two guys when there are numerous flaws on the team. If a guy is giving an honest effort, that's all I ask. As for me, the last thing I'd do is get on Claude.

I'd like to see them panic as little as possible. That sends a bad message at this time of year.

That first line has been dynamic for a really long time, and the one constant good thing about the team. Id keep them together at all cost. The bottom crew needs to sort themselves out.

You blame Vinny for schenn sucking? I see schenn bringing any line he plays on down. Kid really blows this year.

Wait till he wants a ton of cash this summer too. Will be a great situation for the flyers.....

I think LeCavalier is that at this point in his career. He started out good, but the back injury has made him a liability.

You would think after having to use two buy-outs, they would have learned to not signed these anchor contracts. It was a stupid move, when you apparently were grooming bSchenn to be your 2nd line center. Maybe he was brought in as a stopgap, but it has blown up in their face. Shouldn't get a pass for "good intentions".

I don't even blame LeCavalier, Holmgren signed him.

I don't, but to an extent yes. They refuse to move bSchenn b/c he is apparently part of the future. Then stop moving him back and forth between wing and center just because LeCavalier helps feed that "win now" movement.

The kid has been brutal yes, however he has gotten zero help on that line other than Simmonds. Need everyone to contribute, and LeCavalier is a black hole who is on the other side of his career compared to bSchenn.

You mean it wasn't smart buying out a player well past their prime in Briere, and re-allocating the money in another guy who's prime is long behind him?
