Dave Marsh, probably.

He was Springsteen's first biographer.

- johndewar

That sounds about right, I remember he went on and on bout Springsteen like he was the second coming.

So once upon a time there was a guy named Kevin. He was "homeless" but not- he had enough money to start living, but not stay afloat. He was trying to get enough saved away so he could actually STAY on his feet.

Kevin is a talented guitar player and singer. He'd sit with a sign that read "anything helps, even a smile" while he'd play his guitar for passersby. He'd play at 30th Street Station, the 30th Street Septa stop, and anywhere else he could sit down and perform. He even started playing gigs at CHOP. Every time I'd see him I'd harmonize with him or play a song or two, and toss him a few bucks.

Unfortunately, a week and a half ago in broad daylight in Rittenhouse Square, someone asked Kevin for a lighter. Kevin reached for his case, then got knocked out cold. His phone was gone, his money he made that day was gone, but worst of all, his baby- his guitar- was stolen too.

I saw him a few days later crying in 30th street without a guitar. I asked him what happened and was enraged after he told me. I said to him "We'll fix this."

With the help of another friend, $330+ was raised by a bunch of college kids for Kevin via an online PayPal type thing called gofundme. It was enough for a brand new Alvarez guitar, strings, a capo, and the rest of the money went right into Kevin's pocket.

I just got back from delivering him his new guitar with my friend. It was one of the proudest moments of my life.

Marsh was pals with Springsteen's manager, Jon Landau. Landau was a music critic at the Village Voice back in the day and likely knew Marsh from there.

I worded that poorly. Downfall of multi-tasking.

2. Taking Back Sunday
4. Brand New
6. Rise Against
9. Blink 182
10. Say Anything

These aren't punk-punk but variations of punk if you know what I mean.

- JFlyers00

I've seen 2 of them, I think. I saw Taking Back Sunday as the opener for Grade, Catch 22, and Reach the Sky. I saw Blink 182 at the Warped Tour in (I think) 1999. Still, they're the "new" punk that I can't stand.

Was just looking at the Phillies Log:

Barney singled to left.
T.Wood sacrificed, pitcher R.Hernandez to second baseman Utley, Barney to second.
Bonifacio lined out to center fielder Revere.
S.Castro infield single to first, Barney scored.

How the hell is this possible? A guy scored from second on an infield single? Did all 9 players converge on the ball?

- jmatchett383

2 outs man on 2nd was running on contact. Ball hit in the hole, Utley knocked it down, but coukd corral it, pick it up and throw home in time

The first album is the most punk, if any of them are (the one that didn't get radio play). But agreed.

This is, quite possibly, the worst thread ive ever read though. Aside from GiGs humanitarianism.
