Would you rather lose on a fluky goal in OT, or have them blow a 1-goal lead with under 2 minutes left and lose in regulation
- jmatchett383

I was not mentally prepared for that series not to go to 7 games. I think that was my problem.

2010 hurt too - they really had very little business being there, but the whole story seemed fated to lead to a Cup only to end in despair. Kind of like when Billy Ray Valentine realizes that he's only there based on a $1 bet.

2010 was awesome

but 04 gave me more of a total destiny feeling.
will never forget JR getting interviewed on the ice after scoring that OT goal against Toronto and saying "that's two (series) down, Philly, two more to go"

God, that (100% clean) Darcy Tucker hit was the hardest hit I've ever seen.

04 was first season as a season ticket holder, and i remember thinking with about 2 minutes to go in the tampa series that "this can't be the end"...just had this empty horrible feeling, and then primeau tied it. at that moment i thought, we're winning the whole (frank)ing thing. i literally lost sensation in my arms and got light headed from cheering. somehow it was even greater than gagne's ot winner. we all know how it ended.

10 felt more like destiny because of the the whole ride...the goalie carousel, the last game SO, leighton coming back in the POs, the boston series, G's OT winner in game 3. gddamnit. just for once i'd like the story to end the right (frank)ing way.

At least you were alive (I think) for 74 and 75. I just want one before I die. God, that sounds very Toronto-ish of me.

totally agreed about Primeau's goal being greater than Gagne's in terms of feeling.

man that was my favorite flyers game ever. would've killed to be at that one. must've been unreal.

I have that game on DVD, part of the "10 Best Games" boxset from 2004. I sometimes pop in that (or the Toronto game) if the Flyers haven't been playing well, and just watch the 3rd and OT.

If we do, I can literally (yes, literally) die fairly happy. I've done everything major that I wanted to in life (college, car, house, children) and now I just want The Cup.

I was 10 the last time they won so I only remember people wearing the tshirts and the soda cans and glasses and stuff. I'd like to see one but Chicago and Boston will win the next ten and I'll probably have a heart attack and be dead by then.
