Yes... you're still watching the Grand Rapids Red Wings. Still have 5 of our top players out (including Zetts and Datsyuk).
Heck of a fun game to watch. I picked the Bruins to win tonight.. glad I was wrong. Nyqyust is really on a tear ! Wings fans are hoping Pulkinen will be the next Nyquist (similar type player in Grand Rapids). Wings still desperately need a Lucic type player to help balance out their roster. - Vladdie_Kon1
Nyquist is going to be nasty. |

He was electrifying in his college days at Maine. Once he gets up to full speed with the puck he makes defenses look rediculous. |

I hate to say it but he did exactly that last night. Chara was fresh off the bench so I'm not really down on him. However the kid absolutely undressed Rask. Holy poop |

Beautiful goal, just unreal speed. Wasn't even anything that fancy, just pure talent. Z had no chance, he was still attempting to get over to the far side of the ice after a bad change.

The scary thing about Detroit is that they capitalized on mistakes for two goals and the other was a PP. Combine that with a hot goalie and you have a tough playoff opponent. |

I honestly didn't think they played that well in general, but any team that can finish that % of their opportunities is trouble. Especially when you consider how short handed they were.
They definitely had the puck luck last night, but they're the one team I don't want to see the B's face in the East. |

They are also still fighting for their playoff lives, .. they cant afford to lose, Bruins can, sometimes, mentally, that has an effect. |

This "new" Wings lineup is interesting. The majority of these new players are young, fast, and have good size (except for Nyquist and Tatar who are average size). They bring speed and energy to the lineup and this forces the veterans to work harder and skate faster to keep up with their puck-possession style of play. Perhaps all the injuries have given the Wings a silver lining with the new youth movement. There is no question as to which prospect players are bonafide NHL players now.
Not sure why the Wings play well against Boston... reminds me of how they played the Anaheim Ducks last year (who were a bigger, more physical team). Funny how this season's desperate fight to make the playoffs is very similar to last year (except for more injuries this year).
Just confirmed that Datsyuk is back in the lineup tomorrow against Buffalo |

I agree, the Bruins dominated most of the game and had a lot of chances. I didn't have an issue with how the Bruins play, it's just the way Detroit won last night makes me think they are a tough opponent for anyone they match up with. I would love to see them play the Penguins |

The problem has been that Howard hasn't maintained that level of play for most of the season and there are too many defensive hiccups. The Bruins deserved the win, but Detroit stole one from them. Can't wait to see Boston spank the Leafs tonight. |

Serious wheels on that kid. I would appreciate it more if he was back in the west |
