How did the Flyers insider Tim Panaccio not know Mason wasn't starting tonight before going on the pregame show?!?

If a player is not legitimately hurt and is not dressed for a game, aren't there salary cap implications?

I know if a player is injured they are excused from the "per diem" cap, but what about if they aren't injured and they are simply not dressed?

An injured player is not excused from the Cap. Counts the same as an uninjured player. Same for a scratched player.
The Cap is not based on games.

why must there be full disclosure? So you have some facts to put in your lame articles? lame. You sir, are lame.

I come to this page for real hockey, not your national inquirer wanna-be writing. It's not a soap opera, its people's lives and a business. He doesn't want to tell you, he doesn't have to. He's out, someone else is in. So instead you whine instead of giving us hockey news. Boo, lame Tim. As usual....

Ah, Yes. Reporters jobs are to report the facts. Tim is just expressing his irritation over the lack of facts being reported, and the apparent lack of reasoning behind it. Do you want national inquirer, no... But, that's what your going to get if the clubs don't come clean on the nature of the injury. As a fan, you watch a player get hauled off the ice on a stretcher. The natural reaction is; is he alright, what happened, how long will he be out for... A reporter trying to convey the answers back to the fan is not lame.

Maybe Tim needs to calm his undies down and realize that the reporters don't need to know everything? He walks around and talks like he has a sense of entitlement to know everything... and when he doesn't, he stirs things up. He's been doing it for years, I have no idea why they still call him an "insider"... only thing I can think of is that he knows someone up high.

But your example really means nothing, since Timonen wasn't dragged out on a stretcher... He took a puck to the chin.. we knew that... the booth knew it.. the staff knew it... We knew he was alright in relation to "dying or not"... the only thing we didn't know, is if he was going to be back next game, or be back after a few games. And who cares? Will it change your life? No... someone is out, and someone else is in... boom.. that's it. Big deal.

And you're going to pretend that you won't with somebody else? Oh wait, you just come on here for the adorable gifs and only the elevated intellectual discussion portion of the boards? Common.

And you're one of those guys who is stuck in the 70's and that's the majority of what you talk about. You constantly put other posters down because they don't follow your line of thinking, even though you're the one who should stop being so closed minded. Someone posts an opinion about targeting injuries, and you act like you know the facts that it doesn't happen. Can't just say "agree to disagree"... nope, you need to get into a pissing match, again, to try and prove your right. You're the same guy who said a long time back that chemistry doesn't matter. lol

Just because you've been watching the Flyers since the "Broadstreet Bullies" days doesn't make you a self proclaimed expert on everything. I see you, and people like you do it all the time and it gets old quick.

Thankfully I mostly just linger and I don't deal with everyone on here much... but just lingering through the comments sometimes makes me just shake my head. A bunch of know-it-alls and armchair GM's... jeez...
