It hindsight it looks bad, but Perry was just a raw prospect. Could have turned into Brad Winchester or Brad Isbister. Comrie was looking like he was going to be very, very good.

There were way more stupid GM's 10+ years ago, people make fun of the evolution of stats but every team has a person/team that focuses on them these days(how much stock they put into them is another thing). Back then if you were ahead of the curve it as easy to take advantage of the bad GM's.
