I agree. Far too many AHL players make the Oilers the 'Value Village' of the NHL.
- Jeropotato

I agree to, but if he is going to play id rather see him at wing then D. I was going to say I hope he isn't on this team next year but why kick a dog when he is down. That's just rude.

I was pretty excited when Eakins preached puck possession before the season started then guys like Gazdic, Macintyre, Fraser, and Hendricks were acquired. Guys who can't hold the puck for more than 3 seconds without losing it and bottom of the league possession numbers had me scratching my head. Don't see how puck possession has ever been a goal of EDM's
- TheNugeIsHuge

At the start of the season, the Oilers were in or actually winning the possession battle. That's what baffles me. They had it and then due to Dubnyk almost single-handedly blowing 10-15 games. You'd think a guy that preached what he did would realize this and re-adjust his strategies. Instead, he seems to have just shrugged it off as a non-issue. I really hope he reassesses in the offseason and finds a way to get it back.

I likely lean towards Seguin as well if only for the fact that you build around Cs, but I won't say Hall was even close to the wrong choice.

Seguin seems like more of a leader to me. Plus he scores some sick goals. Hall is awesome just think Seguin has more to his game. Not a knock on Hall. Wingers are easier to find than Cs to.

I'd take Seguin over Eberle and Hemsky (as was the rumored deal that draft day).

I wanted Hall on Draft day. I do think Hall could be more vocal in media and the ice. Sequin could have folder or had and average season after the Bruins embarrassed him but he light it up and grow up proving he belongs in the NHL. Bruins are kicking themselves for that but maybe he needed a change to. Either way I think Sequin has proved more in the NHL than Hall.

Corsi took a hit in that first period.

Seguin all the way. Elite Right handed C's are few and far between. Which is strange why the oil didn't pick him, cause for years they were always rumored as going after Spezza "cause they need that #1 Centre".

Oh well, it is what it is with this team.

whaaat? how? Hall has 16 more points in nearly 40 less games. Seguin has definitely proved less

Never heard that. The Oilers have missed out on some big trades. Other players I heard rumoured Bobby Ryan, Bishop. Seguin for Eberle and Hemsky would have been awesome considering we got a 3th and 5th for Hemsky. Glad to see he is doing good. Wonder if he stays in Ottawa? Hope he goes to a cup contender

I disagree.

First, the Bruins got Smith (their leading goal scorer), Eriksson (excellent 2-way winger in a down year), and Morrow (quality D prospect) in exchange for a guy that wasn't going to break their top-2 C threshold and a guy they could replace (Peverley). I stand by my belief that that deal was nothing but a boon for both teams involved.

Regarding Seguin having proven more, I would agree that he's proven more, but more so due to the teams he's played on than off his own merits. Playing on great (Boston) and middling (Dallas) teams likely make a huge difference while Hall has been stuck playing on a garbage team with a lot of garbage (specifically the blueline).

I don't think Boston is to upset. seems like a trade that has helped both sides and its pretty clear that Seguin has proved more in the NHL. He does have a cup ring and multiple playoff experiences. Id like to see what hall could do on a good team

Hall isn't losing every game... He's the only player who brings it every game. Well him and Scrivens seem like the only ones who have a little fight in them.

Heard rumors about Corry perry back in the day, heard they were wanting to give him is but we wanted some other bum( maybe lupul) but I can't remember exactly. Makes me sad to even think we could have had him.

I didn't mention the Cup for that reason. Besides that he seems better to me. I could be wrong its just what I think. Hall has more points in 40 less games but gets way better chances and ice time then Sequin ever did in Boston. He is getting more ice time and put in better chances to succeed in Dallas though that has only been for one year and he is doing pretty good I think.
