You wanna know how not to play possession hockey? Watch the Oilers. It's ridiculous how often they just give up the puck. Whether it be letting it go on the ring around the boards, rocketing passes to high traffic targets, unnecessarily dumping it in for a line change (when there's a pass available), giving up on pucks, or just straight up giveaways.

I was pretty excited when Eakins preached puck possession before the season started then guys like Gazdic, Macintyre, Fraser, and Hendricks were acquired. Guys who can't hold the puck for more than 3 seconds without losing it and bottom of the league possession numbers had me scratching my head. Don't see how puck possession has ever been a goal of EDM's
