Oilers sign arcobello toa one year contract. I'm surprised by the move. I thought he would have felt burned by the franchise and atleast explored other options - CrustyRooster
Maybe he is giving it one last shot? |

I'm happy with the move! I can see him being a great 3C option if played with the right players. I'd like to see his role next season being similar to that of Perrault in Anaheim. Could also see him being played like Plekanec (tough starts, average PP, and heavy PK). |

Yeah exactly, and if things fall through with FA
Plans then he will be an option to play. Good utility player |

BOLD MOVE BY MACT!!!! But yes, it's not like it'll come back to hurt us at all (eg, Clarkson, David, Toronto Maple Leafs) |

This just gives MacT less holes to fill (giggity ) during the offseason. Allows him to focus on signing big, two-way wingers and Dmen, instead! |

Exactly, to be honest it's very possible he doesn't even play in the NHL next year either. Think MacT will do his best to find a bigger guy with more experience through FA that plays similar |

I like that we have him because he could be a real serviceable player that fills in during injuries, but if this team plans on having him as a regular then it's not good.
Arco may be good enough to be playing on this team every game, but the oilers are 29th. If they want to make a leap we have to make arcobello a non factor if that makes sense.
It should purely be a depth move and he should not be expected to be an every day NHL'er because to me it would mean that this team did not upgrade its current forward situation. |

I'll throw some names out not sure if it applies to them but you can be the Judge of that. Iginla, Jagr, moulson, setiguchi, winnik, clearly. Took a quick look and found a few guys I think |
