Maybe. I think we Gamble on Nuge and Yak. Build from the back end out. I'm not sure this will be a playoff team in 2 or 3 seasons anyway, but I think it could be re-done in 4.

I think people are too hard on this team. Our young guys are out there playing against the leagues top shutdown guys. Look at the number of games Yak, Hall, Nuge and Eberle have played in their careers. Compare that anyway you like, for a team that is doing nothing, these guys are still producing. Perron is a lucky bonus. Whether we take a dynamic Center this draft or Ekblad, either way I like our team in 2 years.

We have holes to fill. However you have to understand the defense we have out there. Fraser shouldn't be in the NHL. Belov is at best a 7 man. Marincin and Klefbom have almost no NHL experience. Petry and JShultz are our veterans when on nights like tonight. Look at the number of games they have played on a losing team. Then we talk about Nurse coming up. If we could trade a couple of our young dmen for a good veteran, Marincin bulks up a little and we add a decent second line player. This team will be in the playoffs in two years.

Also how many of you guys disagreed with me when I said we should offer Hemsky a contract? You know who you are. That was an awesome idea trading him instead for nothing. I bet we get an amazing pick that will be a top two guy like he was.

There is at least some luck involved when you win games where you are badly out shot. Much was the case last year in something like 13 wins.
