yes, and so was read's shot off the glass. that's the worst of them all. the puck just took off on him.

every bruin went in and got mase moving. ours like to make a crap move that doesn't require the goalie moving or missing the net. open up the goalie, expose some holes

fun game overall. very happy with their 3rd period push, and some great goaltending.

i hate shootouts. always have. always will. they did not lose this game.

I'm no fan of them either; I just don't view it as anything other than the Flyers got the hard-earned point. Boston's so far ahead of them, I just don't care that they got the other one

Too bad that some people out there just don't appreciate the value of splitting two points

It's usually casual fans, people who shouldn't have any say at all, who don't understand why splitting two points in hockey is better than deciding a game via shootout

Flyer work their asses to get back into the game. Neither team can score in overtime. Then the shootout takes away any steam they had from tieing the game late.

Mason looked terrible. Rask learned from Thomas how to play the shootout. The goalie can't make the first move. Mason made the first move on every single attempt.

Rask just waited until our guys made their move. Raffl should not be in the shootout over our other guys.

Regardless, we all knew we weren't gonna win that shootout.

Well, maybe somebody will remind the Oilers that they do get paid to play hockey and they will show up tonight.

Yeah I thought the same thing... they have such small amounts of time to make a decision...

Was a great comeback for the Flyers.

Good enough for me. Hopefully they're back.

Good night, good hockey!

He guessed and made the first move on Jake with a pokecheck and whiffed. Jake already had his mind made up and couldn't take advantage of a wide open net if he had gone wide.

Rangers played a tough game yesterday. Hopefully they will have trouble keeping up with the Oilers young guns.

Edit: I thought it was yesterday they played the Flames.

Damn. A friend of mine went to the game and posted this about an hour ago on facebook...

Nothing puts a damper on a hockey game like a guy having a heart attack eight rows in front of you. Apparently, he didn't make it.

Think Read just missed. Raffl needed to move a bit more than he did, which wasn't much. Jake holds on to the puck another second and it's an easy goal.

Still, I'm happy they got a point out of that game.

the one good thing about sucking at shootouts is that we have no expectations of getting that extra point. It's just gravy.

JSaq said this a while back, and for the most part, I've tried to do this (with a couple of debates, here and there, because we all get frustrated): We should all do our best to enjoy the ride with this team, when possible

They're flawed, have some youth/inexperience, but they have played pretty damn well for a long time

I would hope, after the last two games, we can retire the narrative that Vinny can't play anymore -- he has limitations, but he is still a capable NHL player who we need to play well

I'll try to be less critical of Baby Schenn, as well -- we need him to play well, too
