Winning is what will make them consistently relevant. Prokhorov will be writing blank checks to sign players... with new ownership, new stadium, new location... I dont think there will be that dark stigma hanging over them anymore which deters free agents from signing there.

With the TV deal (team gets $27mil) and the fact that when they move to brooklyn they will be GETTING money from Barclays means that this franchise is worth money. THAT is why Wang wants 300mil (way too much!), i say 200mil is fair.

The issue is simple: a team with that TV contract, playing in NYC, is an attractive proposition, however, saddled with the debt it has accumulated over the years, it's not worth anywhere near what he's likely asking for it unless it becomes successful before he sells it- and in order for it to become successful, that means he's going to have to at least spend the money it takes to hire people who know what they're doing insofar as managing the on-ice part of the deal. He can't just keep his incompetent a$$ sucks in place, and yet think that the franchise is magically going to be worth $300M, simply because it moved to a more profitable ZIP code. He's going to have to try harder than that.
