But on a serious note, what the hell are the Flyers going to do with Laughton come next year? There is going to be a serious log jam at C.. and I know Lecavalier is not going to play 2C, if they plan on keeping Schenn there.

Giving up on Schenn at Center or you like him more as a forward?
- jstross

Not giving up on Schenn. But I think he's just as good as a Forward, and Lecavalier belongs at Center.

Can't say this for a lot of Flyers, but I thought Mark Streit had a strong game. And continues his strong play for the Flyers this Season.
- MJL

After a slow start he's been a very strong player. A nice piece this team needed.

Best part about the move of Lecavalier down to Center the 4th line. Maybe Berube will see that he needs to be at Center and move him back up to the 2nd line.
- MJL

Keeping Vinny at center on the 4th line for now is the smart. Little doubt injuries will happen during the playoffs. It is obvious he is better at center then wing, and Schenn/Simmonds has been an effective tandem.

i noticed him on the wing on almost every shift when they went down the wall, especially on the right side. obviously players moved around, but i didn't see him much in the middle.
- hammarby31

With the exception of when Hall took some draws, Lecavalier played Center all game.

They may look to move Vinny. Trade or buyout. I think Laughton can play wing if he needs to. He's very defensively responsible. Laughton can start at 4th line center too.

i'm not saying he didn't. i'm saying i noticed him skating down the walls a number of times and didn't notice him much in the middle of the ice.

Schenn and Simmonds weren't effective tonight.

Buyout of Lecavalier would be flat out stupid.

I guess that means they'll never work together. A failed experiment.

Agreed... He should get the chance to prove him self.

It was one game with a new linemate, pretty confident Berube is not moving Vinny up to 2nd line center after one game.

I agree, but they aren't going to bring him back to play 4th line center. Its pretty clear they want Schenn at center and VL cannot play wing.

He was solid. Timonen had a good bounce back game. I thought the defenseman were alright. Schenn had a rough game though.
- PhillySportsGuy

I thought all of the defenseman played well. Don't see why Schenn had a rough game. Don't think he stood out either way.

Meh I disagree.

Schenn was his normal self- not good, not great, but not bad. We all know he's streaky. He had a chance to bury one tonight but flubbed it.

As far as Simmer goes...I think it's sort of silly to say he wasn't effective tonight. He was hustling his tail off like normal, was a tank on the boards, and put the puck in the net for the kill shot. Seems like he's effective game in and game out.

He had some turnovers. I thought Mac bailed him out a few times.

I don't think that is the case, but you're entitled to that opinion.

I think he had one, that was a little dicey. Other then that, he was fine.

I thought MacDonald and Coburn were good the entire game; I thought Streit was soft in the first period but played much better after

But at this point I feel like the best thing to do would be to buy him out... Sure youll look foolish (Again), but he cant play wing and if Schenn is back next year then he will not move off of that 2C. And Lecavalier wont play 4C.

Why would they buyout Vinny. Just a money throw away IMO. He's not an elite player, but he adds value on special teams and is a nice piece. He's here for a few more years.
