Ha! You were banging that drum a while back, but I think it's fair to question whether Schenn is the answer there, either -- he's younger, but it'd be nice to see him take this thing and answer that question definitively.
- AllInForFlyers

Like I said earlier, he's still developing. Ideally, you'd like a more established player in that role. But Schenn is the best 2C on the roster, imo.

I dont think you can find those anymore.... they are all those energy saving light bulbs...

Which is funny. My brother works for a lighting compnay and he says they are actually worse for the enviroment. lol

a lot like the Prius. the nickle in the prius battery comes from the most poluted mining operation in the world... its in canada... lol

Stay Green

Everything produces waste. You don't think eventually they'll be able to find a nickle substitute? It's called progress.

And for some reason, I really doubt you give a rat's ass about the pollution from a nickle mine.

If I'm who you are referring to in the group as "their", stating that my argument is stats based, is false.
- MJL

Im done arguing this.

Somehow I managed to mix Vinny and advanced stats into an argument with you. I feel fortunate to have my sanity right now.

Were beginning to get close to game time. lets just talk about that instead.

Well after today it might be 2 years before I talk to you guys again. Hope everyone is happy. All I know is, I wouldn't have done the same thing to you guys. It really upsets me, cause I really liked coming in here and talking with you guys. Go Flyers.

So let me ask you this: if one guy piles up a bunch of points in the first 15 games or so of the season and then goes cold for the rest, but ends up with the same overall production as a guy who is fairly consistent throughout the season, which one do you think is better?

The only reason I ask is because (if we want to use stats), Vinny's numbers at the beginning of the season were at a near-impossible pace to sustain over a full season, and (Vinny's injury notwithstanding) Schenn has been more consistent this season relative to Vinny. I'm not saying Vinny's worthless, but right now, Schenn deserves the 2C spot. It's his to lose and Vinny's to gain, and it will stay that way unless something changes.

- jmatchett383

I don't agree that scoring at a 30 goal, 50+ point pace was impossible for Lecvalaier to sustain over a full Season.
I think Schenn has been a better overall player then Lecavalier, but he has been very inconsistent scoring wise.

Yeah. It'd be nice if we just get the second line to the point where they don't scare the hell out of you when they're on -- I never dreamed it would struggle this badly, as a whole.

I thought defensively they could have trouble, but I never thought they'd look this disjointed offensively.

You just said what I was trying to say, better than I did -- it's not like Baby Schenn's been this paragon of consistency, lighting the way through the darkness.

He's been better recently, and that's great.

- AllInForFlyers

Yes, he has had stretches of poor production. Relative to Vinny, however, over the course of the season, he has been more consistent. Also, as I said before...even if their numbers and production were identical...

(frank) it, off to the game.

Factually, that mine has been in use since the 1800s. Most of the environmental impact occurred in the first 200 yrs of operation. By the time Toyota began buyng nickel from them five years ago the plant's emissions had been reduced to less than 3% of what it had been in the 70s.

Even given that, Toyota buys less than 1% of the nickel produced in Sudbury annually. The study everyone on the internet loves about the Prius and the Hummer is so slanted it's ridiculous mostly based on assumptions by the people doing the study that have been completely/factually refuted.

The WOWYs indicate that Lecavalier was dragging them both down. I think they'll look much better if he's off that line for an extended period of time.

However, this demotion may only last a period or two.

Not surprising. Thanks for the info.

It's like screaming "free market!" and "protect the job creators!" while shutting down Tesla shops in NJ because there's no middleman making money off the sale of the vehicles.

c'est la vie.

That's not too surprising -- I mean, not only was it obvious to everybody that it just wasn't working, it was frightening at how few scoring chances there were against tougher competition. It was hard not to notice.

Vinny needs to get it going -- I don't dispute that. No one does.

I think it'll last longer than a period or two, though -- they need points, now. If the second line even looks dangerous, let alone pops one...I think it could stick for a bit.

And Schenn managed to put up a positive GF% while having to play with a guy with such crap WOWY numbers. Not bad. This kinda proves what Ive been seeing from Schenn with my eyes, but not really having the stats to back it.
