Simon Gagne has not been an effective player for a number of years, compared to Lecavalier. And the fact that no team is interested in Gagne at any point this Season, is also telling.

It much easier if a distinct point was made. Are you implying that Lecavalier is done as a player?

Not at all. I'm just saying that success if past seasons, as well as past success before a significant injury, is no guarantee of future success.

I agree, it's no guarantee. But in my case, I simply look at all the information available, and come to an educated opinion. And in my opinion. Lecavalier is still a good player that can help the Flyers. If he's used correctly.

Based on what I've seen, I disagree. Numbers be damned, I have not seem him play consistently at a level that I think warrants a top-9 spot.

The silver lining COULD be that I don't have to buy Frozen Four tickets.

Still on the bench getting looked at but in obvious pain. Looks like someone checked him and kicked him (possibly unintentionally). He had lost his stick due to a slash prior to the check. He went to play the puck with his skates and kick it out of the zone.

Edit: Back on the ice and he looks angry as hell.

He has not been a good player since he got injured and was moved to the left side. Both are big factors in how he has played. I thought that he would be able to adjust to the left side, but it seems as though I was wrong about that. He looks healthier and stronger on his skates recently. I have no doubt that if he was put back at Center, he could get back to the level of play that he was playing at before the injury. But the Flyers seem reluctant to do that.

So...I just won a free zamboni ride for next season.

First my wife wins the Giroux jersey off the backs last year, now this. I'm thinking of buying some 50/50's tonight.

Being as Schenn and Couturier are young future pieces of the team (barring a trade), I'd rather keep them at their natural positions of center. Since he hasn't worked out at wing, that means to either scratch him or play him as the 4C, and try to trade him/buy him out in the offseason.

He came back on the ice and just wanted to hit someone. He still looks hobbled. We'll see how much more time he gets

Probably depends on the score. As long as they stay up (preferably by 2+) he probably won't see much. LOOOOOOONG tournament.

Lets hope so, because so far all I just hear/see is speculation about him being associated with the wrong crowd, nothing that he's actually done himself. Flashing gang signs isn't enough.

The guy was a little punk from day 1. If you couldnt tell then your either stupid or blind by fandom. He is an arogant egotistical, and it appears now dangerous individual.

I'm sorry, but the day you start making a million dollars a year is the day you should stop hanging out with gang members and flipping gang signs. Its just stupid.

I don't think moving Schenn to Center affects his future. I think his skill set as a player is more suited to the Wing. Not to mention that the Flyers best forward prospect is also a Center, and that the Flyers don't really have a top Wing prospect, is even more reason to play Schenn at Wing. And I don't see a big difference in his play at Wing versus Center.

I think that maximizing Lecavalier, and getting him playing better, will make the Flyers a better team. Especially for the playoffs.

I would not move a young player who has been a center for the bigger part of his career away from that position in favor of an older player unless there was a drastic change in production by both players with that move. I have nothing against Vinny as a player, but he just reminds me of the bad Leino way too much. He'll put up points, but he just looks lost out there, and once the going gets tough, he seems to go into a shell.

Very odd to look at a stat sheet for Union after 1 period and not see Ghost with 2+ shots. Kid loves to fire the puck.

HA!

Doesn't anybody have any interest in maybe seeing how the guy plays tonight before we make broad statements?

Remember: People get hurt.

We might need him sooner than people think -- this team has been amazingly healthy this year, knock on wood
