I liked McDonagh a lot before the Ranger fans started touting him as the best defenseman in hockey.
- PhillySportsGuy

I just wanted the Flyers to hit McDonagh. He wasn't touched all game. He was the one dong the 'touching' and 'taking away'.

Exactly. Last night felt so familiar. I think all 8 losses have followed the same blueprint. Its uncanny.

Flyers need to jump on them early. Rangers are always tough when they score first.

It appears playing from behind is finally catching up with them.

- PhillySportsGuy

Yup, they absolutely looked fatigued. Ken Hitchcock always said it best, it's never good to be chasing the game. Playing from behind is exhausting. It takes much more energy to mount a comeback than it does to protect a lead and it causes your best players to spend too much time on the ice.

It's critical that jump all over a struggling Leafs team tomorrow night and force them to play from behind.

Typical Ranger fan, almost as bad as Leafs fans.
- BiggE

The difference being that Ranger fans disappear when the team is playing poorly. Leafs fans think the sky is falling when they lose a couple in a row. They hang around though.

I know, right? If Slats himself was offered Pietrangelo for McDonagh, he'd drive McDonagh's ass to St. Louis himself.

Yup, apparently Nashville offered the Rangers Weber, Josi, Jones and 10 first rounders for him, but the fanbase turned them down!!

Simmonds got him at the end . I would have liked our defenseman to be more aggressive. If they can skate it up and dump it in themselves, it allows all 3 forwards to get in on the forecheck.

Rangers were so good in the neutral zone. By the time the Flyers dumped the puck, they had no one to forecheck. It became an easy out for the Rangers D.

No doubt, the Leafs are reeling right now. But, and I can't stress this enough, let them score the first couple goals of the game and their confidence will skyrocket. The Flyers need to stomp on them from the opening faceoff and never let them think that they have even a chance to win the game.

The only thing to worry about tomorrow night is that, TBH: The Leafs looked like they gave a damn against St. Louis the other night, looked like they had a clue in the third period.

In short: They looked like they wanted to win, and would work for it.

Their confidence might be fragile, and they aren't going to turn into the Bruins in two days. But they can score, and if the Flyers aren't careful, the Leafs might pop one or two and then you're in a bear fight

That's right. Get the puck deep and get on them physically. Make them play the hard game battling for pucks along the wall, and taking hits.

Exactly. If they fall behind, the Leafs will really be fighting it.

Flyers need this game. This is the most winnable of all the games during this stretch.

Plus a hiccup can quickly turn into a losing streak especially with the Bruins up next. As far as I'm concerned, the Leafs game is pretty close to a must win.

I believe their system is leave as much space between forwards and Dmen. When the other team scores, blame the goalie. When that gets old, blame the dmen.

Flyers need to get back on track and put a win in the books. As badly as the Leafs have played, if the Flyers don't compete, they'll have their hands full.
