I don't know what it is about the Rangers at MSG, but they make the Flyers look like a team thats never skated a shift together.

Tks, but did not see the UNH player Kevin Goumas that the flyers just signed and I could not find 81-100..... And maybe that's where he's at....

Yeah it felt that way certainly towards the end of the game. The Flyers knew they'd have to take hits, claw and scratch through walls of players to accomplish anything last night and nobody wanted to do it.

Agreed. Sadly, Simmonds was one of the culprits. Just seemed like no one had anything for the Rags most of the game.

Best hit I saw last night was Hartnell on St. Louis.

Wish there was more of Hartnell/Simmonds/Schenn hitting both Girardi and McDonagh nonstop. (Should be a game plan IMO). You wanna match up those big Dmen against our top units, go right ahead.

Yea, but the Flyers generated offense against the Kings and Blues. Those are two very stingy defensive teams.

Nothing seemed to go right last night. They lost almost every 50/50 battle and the Rangers were just one step ahead in every situation. It looked like the Flyers were chasing the puck the whole game.

I thought the stick work of the Rangers was outstanding too. They knocked down so many passes and dump ins. It was infuriating.

Yeah Schenn had a breakaway pass on a platter for VLC and BAM! Backchecked, sticklift, crisis averted.

They really controlled the game. I know they contributed offensively, but even without the goal, they dominated last night. They showed what a true shutdown pairing can do in a big game.

I think maybe 1 or 2 battles were won against those two all night.

Their goaltender only stopping 79% of shots and their shooters only managing to cash in 3% of theirs might have had something to do with that.
- Tomahawk

Something causes those numbers. The process that the Flyers played with in that game was completely different then how they played against the Rangers. Stats don't happen accidentally. This is another case of context being needed, instead of blindly looking at stats. Watching the game tells the stroy, not blindly looking at stats.

Rangers were home and had last change. They can dictate matchups. Girardi and McDonagh was out against the Giroux line most of the game.

It's just disheartening to pay so good against the top teams and than lose to a mediocre team.
- FlyersSteve118

Yes, a team that has beaten the Flyers 8 times in a row at MSG and is ahead of the them in the standings is certainly mediocre.

Guess that makes them a little less mediocre than the Flyers.....

No It wasn't the refs dill weed. It was the ice
- Just5

Yes, that it!

The Flyers should have skated on the ice the Rangers used.....

He has an Olympic gold medal. Like the one that Giroux got....oooops.

Maybe some day he will have a Stanley Cup ring like the ones Bernie Parent got some 40 years ago.
