He's no angel. At 4.5 for 4 more.

Angel is not a hockey term I'm familiar with.

I mean just look at the guy, he's beautiful, he's clearly very happy doing his job that he's the best at, he has all the best stuff, he's just... fdjkrejknfvjkn I hate him.
- BulliesPhan87

LOL, I'd take him on the Flyers any day..

Man, this team never makes it easy do they? Beat a whole bunch of great teams and go on a 5 game run.. then decide to basically take 2 games off... the sports club stats site still says that we have a 92.9 % chance of making it still, but I look at the standings and we're only 3 pts ahead of being out all together.. with several extremely hard games coming up. 2 Boston, CBJ, Stl on the road..

Top line can't carry this team every single game
- Just5

Not asking them to carry the team every single game. But I am asking them to be a factor in one of the biggest games down the stretch against a key metropolitan division opponent.

It's a Gregg Allman term.

The Rangers played a complete, stifling game last night; I'm not trying to say otherwise.

But our top players did nothing to try to overcome it, unless you count making bad decisions with the puck instead of keeping it simple.

- tangent_man

Oh no doubt. But even when they tried to keep it simple the Rags were there to stop it. They were doing a great job of keeping our guys to the outside and cutting down the passing lanes all game long. They were collapsing five guys down to the crease when things got a little out of hand and Henrik stopped what did get through. And he made some pretty good stops. It was very frustrating to watch lol.

Kickstand was right. After that loss last night the insanity that transpired was ridiculous.

Yes. The book is out. New Jersey knows how to do it. The Rangers do. Los Angeles even did it. Flyers could look to show a bit more maturity. That meltdown at the end wasn't because someone got a chop or a crosscheck or a facewash. It was frustration. McDonagh and Girardi play hard and clean. Simmonds and Hartnell were so frustrated by not being able to get 5 inches of space down in the corners all night.

Why what's his name? I honestly forget. Kickstand is all I could conjure without a cup of coffee.

'kicksave'. I called him kickstand last night, but I always foul up his name on purpose.

Flyers need PPs to succeed, imo.

Numbers seem to back that up... below-average 5 on 5 team.

Rangers play the next 4 on the road out west, they should win every game except Colorado, that should be a fight. Let's hope for a let down...

One other thing of note was that the ice was atrocious last night. I swear its like the circus was there the night before. They should have kept the damn pretty plays to a minimum and made life in front of henrik hell....shoot and crash the net.

St. Louis plays the same way and tired to do the same thing. It didn't work in that game. There really is no book. The Flyers as a team, simply didn't battle hard enough on the puck and around the net. And they didn't do the things that made them successful in recent games.

I would go with average, as opposed to below average. But the biggest reason is just inconsistency. The Flyers are capable of being a very good 5 on 5 team at times.

Of course. I just think the powerplay gets their blood flowing, gets them hungry for the net. And the PK helps get them going as well. I just think this team needs special teams play to really be on their game.

I agree with that completely. They seem to get momentum and feed off of special teams.

Their goaltender only stopping 79% of shots and their shooters only managing to cash in 3% of theirs might have had something to do with that.

Yeah and the St. Louis game didn't have the same suffocating feeling that the Rangers game had.

Could have had something to do with the forwards and defensemen skating hard into the corners for the puck as opposed to coasting in.

Yeah it felt that way certainly towards the end of the game. The Flyers knew they'd have to take hits, claw and scratch through walls of players to accomplish anything last night and nobody wanted to do it.
