I'd rather get Thomas Raffl

Gotta be better than the ultimate brother pick, Brett Lindros. 1st round, 9th overall in 1994. Even before PCS set in, he was a clear bust.

Crime stats need context, too -- all stats do.

For example: Rapes are high on a college campus. OK. Horrible.

But because the rapes are high on the college campus, that drives that percentage up for a town that might not see another assault anywhere else.

So. Does the eyeball test tell you that you're more likely to be raped on the college campus? It's giving you a feel for that likelihood, but not telling you definitively. Is it telling you that you'll never be raped anywhere else in that town? Of course not -- because, again, it's giving a feel for the likelihood.

That's context. It's always applicable. Confirmation bias is real, but so is ignorance of long-term trends.

- AllInForFlyers

Completley different. What section of town, has more crimes that occur, or where someone is more likely to be attacked, is one thing. But if a person sees a City or town with a high crime rate, the conclusion that everyone will come to, is pretty much the same. Not a good place to live or be around. Pretty cut and dry.

A players has a poor Corsi%, well that doesn't automatically mean he's a bad player.

I kinda want to play the Rags in the playoffs. It's been 17 years. That series will be a war.

Allegedly, JVR told his brother to NOT sign with the Leafs because of their organizational depth on defense…Not sure Things are much easier in Chicago though

We'll see after tomorrow, but I don't see them as being as tough of a matchup as before.

I agree. My apologies. Back to Hockey.

I'm really suprised that Lecavalier isn't catching more flak today.

Honestly, since they jettisoned Torts they've seemed less and less tough. They were like a brick wall crossed with the trap Devils before.

You guys see what these circular advanced stats discussions eventually become? They always leads to rape and the uncomfortable silence which follows.
