PK responded well to tough love from the Habs, I guess they expect Beaulieu to do the same.

i really don't think that him going back to Hamilton and (frank)ing off is the biggest problem in the world. it's not ideal, and i get not calling him up right away. but given the Diaz trade and the Gorges injury... our defence is just so god damn awful right now.

And honestly that would be a good contract seeing as everyone is getting 5 mil these days on defense and they arent even that good

Rest Price?

Haven't watched the Bruins much but do they crash the net a lot? Maybe to make sure he doesn't get injured? IDK

It's like the last time Budaj got the start against them over Price earlier this season

you know why. it's back to back and they aren't desperate for wins right now, so Therrien will be satisfied with one win. and he is stacking the deck in his favour by having Price start at home against Buffalo. it's a bit too much of a white flag tonight for my liking but i see that as his strategy.

yes but the Montreal Canadiens are too morally superior to deal with attitude
- DoubleDown

They do give off that vibe and I hate it. This (frank)ing holier than thou approach to an organization known for a riot-happy fanbase and champinoship teams that partied as hard as they played.

Plus Budaj has had success against Boston, so they can use that as a reason. I just wish they'd let Price play the Bruins for once.

Good thinking. Didn't think of that.

Rather than go for a "50%-chance" win against Boston and a "70%-chance" win against Buffalo, he goes for a "40%-chance" win against Boston and a "95%-chance" win-sorta deal

But not literally those percentages, just the principle

yeah. no matter what, they need those 2 points tomorrow night. they're the easiest points left on the schedule, and tonight represents that hardest 2 points.

Did Price even play against the Bruins at all this year? I would like too see him play this game because the next time we see the Bruins could quite possibly be in the divisional playoff series.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm not sure he played them this year. To win the east you either are the Bruins or you beta them, and seemingly sheltering Price from them isn't really doing the Habs any favours. However at the same time I can understand the strategy DD and mike are discussing too but it just seems overly conservative.

Probably a combination of all the factors.

Interesting to note Bruins haven't played Price. But maybe by not letting the Bruins have a chance to test Price, they won't discover his weaknesses (not that he really has any).

Or, keeping Price out of it in case they lose, Price doesn't lose his confidence (this I doubt, he's not like Reimer - way more calm)
