That averages to a ratio of one point for every 4.36 minutes on the ice. Simmonds has 54 points in 16:39 average TOI over 70 games played. That averages to a ratio of one point for every 3.29 minutes on the ice.

What he's trying to say is that in 5:19 more TOI per game on average, Crosby has 40 points more than Simmonds. Which clearly means that it's 40points divided by 5minutes 19 seconds, which equals 7.5 pt/minutes over the number of games played. When you factor in the square root of...(frank) it... Crosby > Simmonds.
